Besides Il Fornaio, are there any other places people go to before a Cats game? I know some people make a habit to go to Old Sac before games. I do think if you are going without kids, it's a great idea to park for free across the river. Paying $10 for parking at minor league baseball is criminal. I just went to an MLB game in Phoenix and parking was only $5.

Sal's Taco in West Sac. It is over the I street bridge about two blocks. It has a yummy salsa bar, but it is a bit of a dive. I've never taken anyone there that has not enjoyed the food.

Sal is a big king's fan and does tile work for art. It is something you just have to see.

RIGHT on the water, eat and then walk over the bridge. Superb food and great location.

Eat before a ball game?!

I thought the whole point of going to a ball game was to eat the hot dogs they serve and the beer. biggrin.gif
I would rather be Backpacking

mmmm hot dogs and beer....

but that probably costs 25 bucks for one dog and a beer at the ball park..... thats the biggest downside of stadium food, the insane prices they charge - such as 9 dollar beers at Arco - its highway robbery...

better off eating prior to the game, you'll save $$$$ and then you can buy a souvenir tshirt instead hehehe

There is some great food at Raley field. The sausage cart has some really good stuff.

I haven't been to a ballgame in awhile, $25 for a dog & a beer, that's highway robbery, even if it's a foot long polish sausage and a pitcher of beer.

OK, I recommend wearing a camelbak under your shirt full of beer and smuggling a polish dog from Costco into the ballgame. that should save some money.
