Farley's computer got a new error message today and it said "Over quota- please reconfigure to use less space" It just came out of the blue... so he rebooted and that same message came up after the reboot...

Any Ideas ?

This is most likely hard drive disk space but need more detail to help. Generally a disk quota error is seen on servers but it could be accidentally enabled on a home PC too.

What is the current Used and Free spaces on your HDD (right click My Computer or the C:\ drive in Windows Explorer and select Properties)?

From Properties, select the Quota tab and see if it is enabled (by default should be unchecked). Was it checked?

What is the full error and does the text box have a name (upper left corner)?

The Hardisk space is fine 221 G Total - 176 G Available. Disk Quotas are not enabled.

If he has the error message again- I will get the full info from the message.
