I think my first paid one was probably KC and the Sunshine Band with The Ohio Players at the Circle Star Theater in San Carlos, about 1975.

oh, I am so old.  I think it was probably about 1974 at the Memorial Auditorium and I can't remember who it was, just that it was a rock concert way way back when.  I can still remember the crowds and lines out front and the clouds of pot smoke in the auditorium.

Probably around 1984 -- John Cougar (Mellencamp) at the Concord Pavilion.

Or, maybe it was Bryan Adams whom I saw there. .???

Sly and the Family Stone at the Hollywood Bowl. My aunt and uncle in Long Beach sent for me from Chicago for the summer of 69 (I wasn't even born yet :P). I was a huge fan and the concert blew me away, despite the fact that we were waaaaay in the back.

Fats Domino back in 1957, Grand Rapids, Michigan

Blueberry Hill was his big one at the time...

A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

This goes well with the first word in the question.  It was The Who, with Patti Labelle as the opening act at the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in NYC in July 1971 and they were still smashing their guitars then.

Think it was Devo at Santa Monica Civic in 79-80, then The Who/ The Clash at LA Colosseum, or maybe George Thorogood at the Hollywood Palladium. They were all pretty close together, so the order may be off.

This is making me try to remember.....I saw the stones in Oakland, the Dead in Grass Valley, Bob Markey at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Charlie Daniels band at Kirkwood, Bob Seger and Kiss at Oakland, I have to keep thinking about this. I know there were others.

Deep Purple, Fresno Convention Center...I'd say '76 or '77. I went with my brother & parents, and sat in peanut heaven, trying to pretend like we didnt know what was going on with all the pot smoking.

Steve, I am thinking Circle Star Theater too.....   In the mid 70's....?   My uncle took me to see Roy Clark....  Still have memories of that....   Later, on a date in the 80's I saw Ashford and Simpson there....   Great memories....   What a great venue that was....!   Regards, Chris
