This year promises to be the best ever, as all 3 of Folsom's free concert venues have stepped up their game!

Rock, reggae, Latin, country, blues and jazz. It's all happenin in Folsom this summer, and all for free in family-friendly settings.

Concerts are held Wednesday nights at Palladio Center, Thursday nights at the Historic District

Amphitheater,  and Friday nights at Folsom City Lions Park.

Let's start off with Palladio:

PALLADIO-CONCERTS-382x218.jpg

Palladio at Broadstone every Wednesday June thru August, 7p-9p in the Piazza.  Concerts are family friendly. Official policy is 'no alcohol'. I don't know what's in those red solo cups. With a few exceptions, Palladio concerts lean toward retro dance cover bands. Here's this year's lineup:

June 7 - WONDERBREAD 5  - Party Dance Band

June 14 - APPLE Z  - Dance Rock

June 21 - THE DEPARTMENT OF ROCK - Rock and Pop from 70's, 80's, 90's

June 28 - NOTORIOUS  - Current thru today Dance Party

July 5 - GWEN IN DOUBT - Gwen Stefani Tribute

July 12 - HIP SERVICE - Dance Party Extravaganza

July 19 - POP ROCKS - High Energy Dance

July 26 - SWIFT COUNTRY - Tribute to Taylor Swift

August 2 - POP FICTION - Party Dance Band

August 9 - SUPERLICIOUS - 80's Flashback Cover Band

August 16 - THE SPAZMATICS - Nerds that Rock

August 23 - THUNDER COVER - Energetic, Dance, Cover Band

August 30 - CHEESEBALLS  - High Energy Dance Party Band

The party moves to the Historic District Amphitheater on Thursdays. You want real variety, the Historic District concerts lineup is all about it!  Concerts go 730p to 915p. Officially a no-alcohol venue, but adults behaving nicely seem to be okay.

Wind down your week with the Friday concerts at Folsom City Lions Park.  Folsom concerts in the park features a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of lawn to spread out on. Feel free to bring blankets, chairs, a picnic, and even some booze, if you promise to drink responsibly.

 They go 7p to 9p.

June 2 -ROBBY JAMES & THE STREETS OF BAKERSFIELD - Country

It depends on which venue you're talking about. The ones on Wednesday evenings are at the Palladio, which is private property, and I believe Whole Foods and Dignity Health are among the sponsors.

Thursday nights are produced by the Historic District Merchants Association, and I believe they pay for them themselves.

Friday nights are put on by the City of Folsom Park and Rec, and supported through donations. I know the Folsom Rotary contributes, and back when I was on the Arts and Cultural Commission, I believe we gave some of the 'Take Part in the Arts' donation money to help out.

I am trying to get a jazz series for Friday nights in August, and working on sponsors for that. You in?
