I've always thought it makes sense... The A's can keep their fan base, move to a city that can support it (The RiverCats sometimes outdraw major league fanchises), and the stadium was built to accomodate it. Plus the Bay Area fans can still watch the team on TV. Not too bad of a drive for the east bay - an hour or less in some areas.

That would be outstanding - I would love to see this happen, it'd be great to finally have a pro sport team in town that could make us proud

Don't tell the Japanese or Koreans that.

Besides that, baseball is as American as hotdogs and apple pie.
I would rather be Backpacking

Yeah, I guess I meant in America. I thought Basketball was the new Americas Past-time.

They tried this once before and failed. The stadium foundation is still visible out near Arco. That was suppose to be a new stadium that would be used to get the A's. Maybe the difference is that the A's want to move this time. Too bad the people of Sacramento will never back any public investment needed to get them to move here.

A's would be great and I think they would do well here. Look at the draw of the Rivercats. This area likes baseball.

We wouldn't be starting from scratch this time. Raley Field was built to be expanded.

The problem is that a pro team would kill the attendance of Rivercats games, and it may not be much of a net gain.

The RiverCats would have to leave if we got a MLB team. While we all love the RiverCats, we'd love MLB baseball more. Lord knows we already pay MLB prices for parking and food there!

I've only been to a couple, but I thought rivercats games were cheaper tickets, cheaper beer, and more interesting to watch than MLB. I would personally be disappointed to see them replaced by the A's.
