Heard on the radio today of a 410lb woman that was going down a water park slide and died of a heart attack on impact with the water. Her body couldn't take that must stress.

Also heard about a 900+ man that was going for gastric bypass surgery to control his weight, but was denied admission at the hospital since their equipment could only support up to 800lbs.

All of these morbidly obese death stories really saddens me.

I understand that a lot of it is lifestyle, but there are also elements of individual metabolism deficiencies that have to be involved.

These family members, while probably anticipating most of these deaths, in some fashion or another, still have to suffer the same grief over the losses.

Guess I feel that it's unfortunate we view these as we would a circus freakshow when it really shouldn't be. Life (and death) should not be like that for these people.

Sorry Terry, I disagree. I feel zero sympathy for people who eat themselves to death.

Actually I was expressing my sympathies towards the families who have to endure this.

That is unbelievable and intriguing, however disgusting. It still doesn't add up. I can't wait for Hollywood to come out with The Life of Gayle Grinds. Yeah right!
