Hey all, I took some photos of downtown Sacto a couple weeks ago and posted them on this link. I think many show how beautiful the capital city is. Check it out if you want. Beware, a 56k may take a bit...

This is a very neat picture, although I didn't take it. Must be from 2000-2001 time period.

Great pictures - Sacramento from an architectural point of view is lovely, but the downtown culture and people who hang out there are not very pretty. I've always been amazed at the size of the homeless population and the mental cases that hang out everywhere. Too bad - it has so much potential. Defintely a project for city management.

Yeah, to some degree that is very true. However, downtown is in the midst of it's own kind of renaissance. When I was downtown taking the photos, there were lots of people around who appeared to have homes and only slight mental issues.

Any metro areas, any downtowns in California have the same problems - homelesness. Check out SF downtown - THE worst.
I hope Sacramento City keeps it that way.
........ So that the homeless don't find their way........... to Folsom.

I understand that most large cities have these types of issues, but seriously, has anyone discovered a really classy, cultured part of Sacramento yet? I haven't and would love to find something to feed my brain.
