Hmmm. And they all have a D after their name. See what one party rule gets you? 40 years of one party control will tend to lead to corruption. In this case, it was the democrats and their public sector unions, evironazis, and lawyer lobbyist overlords that abused the system.

hmmm, considering that most of them were arrested for personal crimes, not crimes against the politics in CA (ie: drunk driving, carrying guns on planes, home loan or business fraud, etc)- I am going to have to disagree with the sentiment of your outrage. Although, I do not disagree with your outrage.
I dont think these arrests have much to do with unions, environmentalist, lobbyists--- unless they are working for the repubs and bringing incidents to light .....
Honestly.. these are people who are in politics and just shouldnt be. They do not share my ideals of what a leader should portray to their constituents.

If you follow CA politics, you know that this immoral and criminal behavior is just the tip of the iceberg. AS for these particular criminals, you are only somewhat correct. The party they represent consistently caters to the above mentioned groups. That catering is a large reason why CA is no longer the golden state. Just a few days ago, CalPers added 100 pension sweeteners for everything from fitness to markmanship. Jerry Brown did blast ONLY ONE of the new pension spikes; that being the one that let temporary assignments count toward computing pay. See, it's pretty common to have someone "acting" supervisor for a short time to bump their pension. Remember, their retirement is based on their HIGHEST best pay. Will the Dem controlled legislature do anything about it? Absolutely not as they are beholden to the public employee unions. Guess who pays for that spiking? http://www.sacbee.co...pers-board.html

Yep. The illusion is of differences in the parties nationally. While their traditional philosophies are different, in practice, they both are concerned with themselves and their political sponsors over ideology. Each group caters to their own special interests, none of which help the "average joe."
I was pointing out that in any system where you have one party rule (CA), the chances for malfeasance go up tremendously. AND when the party of opposition is content to carve out their own piece of the pie and let the majority go wild, you get policymaking that is in no way good for the whole.
Interestingly, the states with the most corruption are all left leaning (other than Texas, although their corrupt politicos are mostly Dem) http://congressional....com/States.htm
Although the site is not laid out very intuitively, there is plenty of good info. In just the House, Dems out-corrupted Reps by 56-25 between 1975 and 2004. Go team!
From 1856 to 2004, the Dems have had a 2-1 lead in corruption in the House. Hey, if you're going to do something, do it right! These are just the ones who were CAUGHT. They don't include state corruption, Senate corruption, or judicial corruption. Those lists are HUGE and , frankly, pretty depressing to go through.

I agree with your sentiment on both parties. I will say that from someone who was an insider on government affairs that the Republicans are just slicker at their corruption and hiding their trail. Both parties are corrupt but the Republicans are by far better at it and hiding it.

It's fine to disagree. I think it is important to understand that my statements are based on my direct and daily experience, not what the news or statistics or political parties or social media or someone told me.
I was the one working in a government affairs office of a HUGE international corporation. I am the one mailing out the "contribution checks" and hearing the lobbyists, senators and assemblymen talking in our conference room. while making arrangements for their special get-a-ways and fielding their private correspondence. I would see and hear things you would never hear anywhere else. No one has a clue what is really going on unless you are deep inside the culture. (We were faxed death threats often. I was the one that had to open the mail because the big wigs were afraid of poison and bombs.)The employees are paid stunningly well (stock options galore to help ensure loyalty) and treated very well to help maintain the sick political culture in our country. I was given Alvin Ailey tickets, invited to parties, taken out to Biba's for lunch with "the gang" (lobbyists and their senator/assemblyman buddies). I watched first hand a brilliant young Republican (freshman) assemblyman get utterly destroyed BY HIS OWN PARTY over the course of two years for wanting to work across the aisle to get things done for the people. The jerks that did it to him are still in power. We have great folks from ALL parties wanting to get in and help, their own culture weeds out the good hearts. Very few (any?) can survive more than a year or two before their own party weeds them out.
Again, based on my direct experience, I saw that R's were better at it than D's but they all play the game.

I think it's high time to get rid of any and all incumbents who have been in office over 6 years.

I don't know about the others and their crimes, but Leland Yee is a downright hypocrite. He has long pushed for anti-gun legislation and he's been caught being involved with illegal gun trafficking. Makes my blood boil when I hear about scum sucking pigs like this in office.

They actually need to dig deeper on him.
I was told directly from a source that he was taking kick backs from CA Army National Guard Leadership in Sacramento.....
