Yeah, doesn't quite work for me. Even when I did drink, I didn't like wine.

This is what is important to me. We've been looking at switching for a long time and a lot of reps for other insurance companies out there are just straight out A-holes. I don't get it.
Though, our current company did donate $100K to No on 8, so maybe we should stick with them, until our next renewal. Just on general principle. Heh.

So, we took off for the hills. Even on an otherwise dreary day, that place is beautiful. The winemaker's husband, Josh, made some cioppino. It was great.
Stopped by Poor Red's on the way home and ran into an old buddy from the Bay Area, who I hadn't seen in a couple of years. He told me he'd had a 7 pound tumor removed from area around the base of his spine. He lost a lot of blood during hte operation and almost died, then had what turned out to be temporary paralysis for weeks, had to use a colostomy bag for 4 months, had lost a lot of weight, couldn't keep food down, and had a total of 3 surgeries. He is now healthy, looks great, but strangely enough, his hair used to be a kind of medium brown color, and now it has grown out almost black. He bought a Harley, and was out celebrating life with his new girlfriend.
Turns out the girlfriend is a Realtor from Granite Bay, and who was interested in a property that is listed at my office, and I recently sold one listed by hers.
It also turns out that she is good friends with a guy in my extended circle, and we know some of the same people.
We now have plans to get together for dinner soon.

About 30 years ago, I saw a comedian, I think it was Bill Cosby, who said that he came out of a building, went to his car, and discovered that the front end was damaged. There was a note on the windshild which read, 'Dear car owner. I was backing out of a parking space, and I hit the gas too hard, damaging your car. Right now, there are several witnesses watching me, so I am writing this note, pretending that I am leaving you my name and phone number. I am not. Sorry.'

Who woulda thunk it.
And kudos to the doctor for responding to the email so promptly and to Kaiser for making it so easy to contact the doctor for silly little first time parent questions.

Yep, Kaiser has done an excellent job with their going online.
You can email your doctor.
You can pick a new doctor online.
You can refill prescriptions.
You can schedule an appointment.
You can do all of the above for a dependent, and even for a parent if the parent grants you permission (my wife was doing things for her father online)

Oh s---!!!!
(That's actually been my response to a lot of people today. Guy I know in Texas updated his Facebook status to read: "Maintenance guy was in our apt. checking the water today. Wife found him examining the dry ceiling while standing in the still unseen wet spot.")
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.
