Hi Folks - I need your help! My daughter was adopting a goffin cockatoo and she escaped. It just happened about 2pm near Levy and Riley.
If you see or find her, please call me at 916 718 9577.

This is not her, but looks like her

Steve, I get a lot of birds in my back yard as I feed them all the time and submit bird counts to the Audobon Society.

I am just off Blue Ravine between between Riely and Prairie City road. Not sure it would come this far but will be looking for it.

Does it have a name and would it come to a person if they called him/her?

Steve, there's a Folsom Lost Pets group on Facebook. You should post there as well.

Thanks Cal. Her name is Lily. We don't know much about her other than that she is about a year old, tame and supposedly sweet.

Steve, I'm so sorry.  I'll definitely keep an eye out and an ear out for an unusual sounding bird.

I've always got seed out, but I'll put some high up so it's more visible.

Hope you find Lily soon.

I just pulled it up on google and it is a noisy bird. You sure wouldn't miss that one if you heard it outside.

I hope it is found.

Can this bird survive in this area in the wild? It still gets pretty cold at night. where will he find his bowl of yummy handpicked seeds and fresh clean water?

I hope the bird is found. Sad to see birds like this get out and away. I don't think they last too long; on their own. Predators are everywhere; especially in this area.

Hard to say. Some pet birds escape and live full lives in the wild.  One of the folks at Parrot Rescue said that sometimes they'll give up looking for food on their own and seek out a human to help them.

Lots of people with bird feeders in the area. And these birds are pretty smart. They will see what other birds are doing. And the weather is mild. Just need people to keep their eyes open!
