Lots of interesting stuff on the agenda! Term limits, campaign contribution limits, rotation of the mayor, and a possible sales tax.

Certainly one to attend with all the goodies being presented.        Is the meeting live streamed on the internet ?

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

They use to do live casts but I don't think they do anymore.

You can watch it afterwards.  Go to

http://www.folsom.ca...ngs/default.asp

A day or so after the meeting you will be able to watch it if you click

under Video.   Click on Webcast and it will come up.

I just called the city and was told that they do broadcast it live.

Go to:

http://www.folsom.ca...gs/webcasts.asp

When the meeting starts you will be able to watch it.

Hope it works.

it would certainly be nice if the new 1/2 cent sales tax were going to a specific use, not into the general fund.

I agree. I like the idea of adding a cushion or another revenue source, but would like more specifics.

People ask me, ‘Why do we need this tax?’ We don’t have enough money,” Sheldon said. “It’s not because we wasted money. It’s not because the government is incompetent. It’s not because we built a lot.”

So why don't we have enough money?  Would really like a full explanation. We're one of the top cities in Sacramento County with one of the highest average household incomes in the county yet  we keep asking for more, more taxes, more Measures, more special bonds.

I believe it will go into the general fund so the city can use it as they see fit. They wouldn't commit to just one or two items rather a multitude of projects, from finishing our current parks including Lembi, Rodeo, Ed Mitchell, Davies, Livermore  to trail improvement and "city enhancement". Plus they will want to build smaller parks in the newer neighborhoods that lack the concentration of parks in older parts of Folsom. Econome park across from Briggs Ranch is the first park to be started and completed in one phase. There's a second park next to Vista Del Lago HS, Lot 51 which is next on the schedule of parks to be started and hopefully completed in single phase. After that it will depend on how Folsom voters accept the half a percentage increase proposal from 7.75% to 8.25%.  Police, fire and road improvements are also part of the proposal.  I'm sure there's more but this gives you a good idea what a lot of the tax would go to.

doesn't the gas tax pay for road improvements?

i do not seek to engage in a tax debate here but would like to know why and what the new proposal is for, in detail.
