Add a nice hotel for a honeymoon, weekender, convention, family vacation. Add a kids game rooms and a city or community with activities or attractions (skiing, golfing, bowling, boating, tours etc. Add convention centers for large groups, wedding chapels and even museums as in Harrah's former car museum to attract the gambler, gambler's family or anyone looking for a vacation away from home. Its all about the money.

Not exactly fun for those of us in heels on a frosty night but better than waiting 45 minutes for an elevator.
I know it's after the fact, but surprisingly the elevator line moved super quick, we also walked all around the casino trying to avoid the line, when we came back it was twice as long, back to the self serve drinks, only took about 10 minutes, they packed em full and had all 4 running.
Point is, if the elevator lines are a consistent part of the casino, it's worth the wait, it moved fast. Even with the obnoxious drunk cutters!

While I do think the Red Hawk casino is not the best, they do advertise it as a fun place for kids....It's okay, but we were there for only an hour....
However, Las Vegas is another story..
Our kids had a wonderful time in Las Vegas and guess what, it's for kids! There are entire parts of casinos that are for kids...Circus Circus, the M&M store, all of the 3-D motion movie rides, the roller coasters, the huge arcades, the mini-golf, the go-cart racing, the pools with waterslides..GUESS WHAT, they were all for KIDS...DOn't be such a PRUDE.....Maybe you never have been there...Granted its an adult playground too, but there is plenty to do for families ... Our kids loved the fountains and laser shows and the pirate show. It's no different than taking your kid to a football game..There will be drunks, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the game...You just have to use adult judgment and discretion...
We stayed at the Wynn and it was beautiful and the kids loved it...Lots for them to do and we had a private cabana....Very nice for all, so I think u argue for argument sake..Maybe u r just green with envy....

Next week we're taking the kids to Hooters! After that we're thinking of a family outing to a crack house. The kids just love playing with pipes.

The first Hooters I ever went to was in Texas, and two tables away from where I was sitting was a Bible study group.

I think you are a typical right-winged hypocrite who goes to Hooters even though u r married and google over the 20 something u could never get...Get over yourself....
There is NOTHING wrong with going to Las Vegas and bringing kids...DON'T tell me NO one on this forum have brought their kids to Vegas with them! SUCH hypocrites Folsomites!!!! That's why most of the kids in my children's school have been there with their PARENTS!
It's not like you are bringing them to a whorehouse to see their daddy having fun...
C'mon.....Just like every city there are bad parts and good parts for families.....
You can also take the kids to:
See a magician (Lance Burton is particularly kid friendly, or the amazing acrobats at Cirque du Soleil (take your pick of five different productions).
Go hiking at Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire State Park (www.desertusa.com). The kids will be impressed by the color of the rocks and their ages. Some are more than 1 million years old. Just go very early in the morning or late in the afternoon and bring plenty of water!
Tour Hoover Dam.
Learn about the importance of water in the desert at Las Vegas Springs Preserve. The displays are interactive.
Meet Atlantic bottlenose dolphins at The Dolphin Habitat and white lions and other exotic creatures at Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden at The Mirage.
Gain a new perspective on lions at The Lion Habitat at the MGM Grand and sharks at Mandalay Bay's Shark Reef, where you travel through a replica of an ancient temple surrounded by sharks.
Cheer on Las Vegas' minor league baseball team, the Area 51s.
Teach the youngest in your family about the desert (and get them out of the sun) at the "Desert Discovery" exhibit at the first-rate Lied Discovery Children's Museum. On a more serious note, a new exhibit opening this June will explore the plight of refugee children around the world.

Yeah, I forgot about the time my daughter was seven years old and said to me, "Daddy, can we go to Vegas instead of Disneyland? I'd rather go to the kids section of the casinos instead of Space Mountain."

Are you saying you have NEVER walked through a casino in Tahoe or Reno or Vegas with a child? You may have been skiing, boating, golfing, visiting museums and passing through to a restaurant or kid friendly show but it would surprise me if in the next 14 yrs NEVER step through a casino.
Several people responded to the question why there are kid activities in\near CASINOS and you seem to be stubbornly closed minded or simply fail to understand that while most people will respect what you have to say but not everyone will agree with you. Consider there may be valid and good-parenting opportunities for families beyond your wisdom.
Now, I believe the topic was focused on experiences\reviews of the Red Hawk Casino. Carry on.

Obviously, u have trouble with comprehension...I specifically said that Las Vegas isn't a destination spot, but if u r there, u will find plenty to do with a family...
