Unfortunately, the margarita's i've had at Hacienda have been some of the nastiest i've ever had. No exageration. Maybe I need to go back and try again someday.

A friend of mine turned me onto the mango margarita's there - she said they are the best she's ever had - tried one and I was hooked - very good stuff, they make 'em great.

I haven't tried any other kind there yet - give that one a try next time you're there.

I've been to Applebee's a couple of times, and it has sucked bad.

There's only one dish I like at Applebee's but the rest is crap. I like the chicken wraps. I don't remember what they're called since I don't go there often.

I think the Hacienda needs improvement but Sol Azteca was pretty good when we ate there.

Pita Pita wasn't that great. Overpriced and plain. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

I can't stand Applebee's - I won't go there anymore, they have the worse food there.....I'd rather go to Chili's for that type of food

I ued to like Folsom Family Pizza, but I agree that they seem to be taking some short cuts on quality (granted, the price of cheese, as a commodity, has risen substantially). Right across the way, Mountain Mike's (who I liked in college over by Sac State) is horrible.

no kidding? I've always had excellent service there and the foods always been great.  Wonder why you had a bad experience - I"m really surprised to hear this about that place.

My entire family is big on sushi and Japanese/Chinese food. Of course, we've been spoiled since before his stroke my grandpa was a gourmet chef and made everything from scratch for us (all Chinese/Japanese food except sushi). No starch in the sauces, nothing heavy, everything with at least 50% the grease you find in most restaurants.

When it comes down to it, we only frequent 4 Asian restaurants now. Shoki for their sushi and great Japanese cuisine, Umekos off of Folsom Blvd. closer to Howe for their great buffet, and Rice Bowl off of Florin Rd. for their dim sum, and Korea House off of Bradshaw on the other side of Folsom Blvd. We have been to other "good" Japanese and Chinese restaurants, but none of them taste as good as these places. The best Korean food we've had has been at Korea house, and nothing else apeals to us.

I cringe each time I see someone praising Mikunis, Taikos, and Aloha Sushi on their food. Each and everytime we've been to those places, the food has been horrible and the sushi has been going bad. Fresh sushi shouldn't taste like fish.

I am a serious sushi junkie and I learned to enjoy it from the place it was invented - in Japan - I was taken to many places while I was working there and I've tried it all - it was like going to college for sushi learning....so when i came back home of course I had to go around and see what was good - excellent sushi is definately hard to find

I've been to alot of sushi places here and by far the absolute best is Taiko Sushi (its my all time favorite) and a close second is Shoki Sushi

SF has some of the best sushi places in Cali....but thats too far to drive for dinner tongue.gif:

do you have a favorite in SF?
mine is a place called Goeman's (sp?). it's in the Sunset district, near 17 & Lincoln (i think--- a few blocks south of GG Park)

if you have a place to recommend though, i'm always up for finding a good place!
