Here in Windsor, there's a kid who's latest idea of a good time is running out in front of cars so they have to slam on the breaks. Real funny until someone doesn't see him in time! We're on Camberwell about halfway between Oak Ave and the corner, and my husband's seen him three times now on his way out. Looks about 13 or so.

True. Unfortunately, the person who does him that favor will get in trouble.

You know, that kid is pissing me off too. I am about to stop and go up to the door to talk to his parents. He plays around in the street all the time! Where are his parents? I think we should go together. smile.gif

Also, I dont think he is thirteen, my guess would be 8-10. I dunno...

If this was my neighborhood, I might keep my camera phone ready and then go knock on some doors. His parents probably have no clue.

I live in the neighborhood too, and haven't experienced that kid yet. However, when I was driving out the other day some teenager in a white truck swerved into the middle of the road at me then swerved back... When I drove by I gave him no satisfaction and just kept on going, but the little jerk was laughing like he was claver... BUT if my wife had been driving and had gotten freaked out... well lets just say that that kid's parents better have insurance...

Watch your da*n kids people!!!

If I knew where he lived, I would definitely be knocking on his door. If anyone finds out, we should all go together! Be a nice chance to meet our neighbors.

Speaking of which, we're having our housewarming party on Sunday afternoon. Feel free to stop by and introduce yourselves!

He lives right there on the corner of Camberwell and Kennerly. In the house that has the white kiddie gate in front of the door.

A common assumption, but not always true.

While some parents may indeed be idiots and jerks, others are great, but have kids who make poor decisions.

I know a guy who raised 3 kids in the same house with the same guidance and the same rules.

One became a nurse, another started a jewelry company, the other one has been in and out of trouble since he was a kid, and spent years hooked on meth.

I knew of another guy who was a doting parent and very active in his church, his son ended up moving north to grow pot, and his daughter got pregnant at 16.

Blaming the parents is easy, and sometimes deserved, but ultimately, kids make theiir own decisions. We just do our best and hope for the best.

Steve is correct. My brother has four children, three of which are doing well and in college. The last one is a huge problem. He had to nail her bedroom windows closed, remove her closet and bedroom doors, and install motion detectors to catch her before she snuck out at night. She was brought up the same as the others.
