Cool Restaurants In Sacramento?

We want to go out to eat then maybe go see some local live music later in the night.
I'm looking for really delicious food first and secondly an interesting atmosphere that doesn't look like the typical chain restaurant.
Any ideas?

We will look at that one as a possibility.
Other choices?
I think they may also like something "with a hip and modern" atmosphere or else a semi-causal bar-oriented place with good food.
Are Paragary's Bar & Oven, Ink's Eats and Drinks or "Crush 29" worth trying? Bistro 33?

Paragary's is always good, Crush 29 is a meat market (in Roseville), and Bistro 33 is pretty casual. Esquire Grill is good.
I'm out of the downtown loop, but there are SOOOO many great restaurants, it shouldn't be hard.

We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

Bistro 33 is all flash and not much substance, IMO. I wanted to like it because I like the Haines brothers' other efforts (Riverside Clubhouse and 33rd Street Bistro), but I won't go back.
Lucca has a great atmosphere, but their food is very uneven. While their zucchini chips are to die for, the rest of the food can be excellent or very overrated.
Paragary does it right, though I don't find the menus to be very exciting. Ink is a good, fun eating place.
Centro has great food, a great location, a hoppin' bar and a fun vibe.
If you're looking for uber-cool, hit The Park at 15th and L. I haven't eaten there, so I can't tell you about the food, but the atmosphere is very hip. The hippest Sacto gets.
My favorite place at which to eat downtown is Moxie. It's at 20th & H Street. Excellent food. It's not cheap, but I find it to be the best experience with food, atmosphere, menu and service. You will get great food with an exciting menu and Bill's service. Bill's the New Yorker owner who loves what he does. He brings enthusiasm galore.

Duh. I was thinking of 33rd Street Bistro. Haven't tried the others.
I have heard WONDERFUL things about Moxie.

Centro is pretty good, but seems geared toward the younger, more fashionable crowd, as is Crush 29.
Zocalo has a great look and atmosphere.

At 16th and J street. There's a music store across the street from it to hang out at before or after.

If it's Tapas, or Spanish food, that you want, I suggest Aioli Bodega Espanola at 18th & L. Much more authentic and IMO the food is of a higher quality. If you're looking for a romantic place, their back garden with water features is excellent.
Zocalo is right next to Dragonfly and a great place to people watch. The food's pretty good, too, but it's very loud. Loud doesn't generally bother me, but it's so loud that I don't like to go there anymore unless it's for a margarita at the bar. I couldn't put up with the volume through a whole meal.
