Although our POS Steinberg and his good buddy De Leon are horrible representatives, it could be worse. We could live in New York where the mayor said this,

"What’s been hardest is the way our legal system is structured to favor private property. I think people all over this city, of every background, would like to have the city government be able to determine which building goes where, how high it will be, who gets to live in it, what the rent will be. I think there’s a socialistic impulse, which I hear every day, in every kind of community, that they would like things to be planned in accordance to their needs. And I would, too. Unfortunately, what stands in the way of that is hundreds of years of history that have elevated property rights and wealth..."

"Look, if I had my druthers, the city government would determine every single plot of land, how development would proceed. And there would be very stringent requirements around income levels and rents. That’s a world I’d love to see, and I think what we have, in this city at least, are people who would love to have the New Deal back, on one level. They’d love to have a very, very powerful government, including a federal government, involved in directly addressing their day-to-day reality."

Count me out asshat.  Private property is one of the foundations of a successful country. Otherwise, you have serfs and masters. As for government, the less it is involved in my day to day life the better I like it.

The arrogance, the ignorance, and the appalling lack of respect for "the common man" is overwhelming. Not to mention his obvious communist tendencies. But hey, of course it will work THIS TIME, because the right people (him) will be in charge... I think I just threw up in my mouth...

Not to worry.  If he really believed it, he would be living it, which I'm certain is not the case.  He's just pandering to voters.  That's what politicians do.

De Blasio is a Sandinista......!  That is all you need to know about him....  Oh, and that he is always late for appointments and sleeps in late every day.....   That also tells you a lot about a person.  Lazy and does not respect the time of others.   Chris

I dunno, Joe. Maybe those quotes aren't all bad.

I mean, when money rules, what happens?
They pay off the politicians to keep the system rigged against the little guy.

Why is it that 90% of the growth in income has gone to the top 1% if not for the wealthy elite jury-rigging the economy?

Tio Vinny, you really need to move to Venezuela, Cuba, China, or maybe North Korea so you can see how "those quotes aren't all bad".   You'd be begging to come back to your comfy life back here in the good ole USA within a week.  I bet even an anti American, anti capitalist, leftist like yourself might even kiss the ground when you got of the airplane back here in the states....!   Well, maybe that's going to far....?   Chris

Yeah Vin, government housing is known for its quality and safety. :P  Who will build anything when the government will regulate the profits?  Yeah, the American system has really sucked for the world.

No, he (and you) are crazy if you think communism "lite" and/or government fascism will work this time...
