Did anyone see the high speed chase going down Greenback lane (towards Citrus Heights) today just before 1 p.m.? I was almost taken out by the Large white truck with two males in it along with 6 Folsom PD. Luckily I moved out of the way in time!

I think she meant 6 Folsom PD were chasing the white truck, cmon, you were joking or you misunderstood? This person was obviously almost killed, by this chase. So there was a truck with 6 PD in pursuit...and glad she did not get killed.

Folsom PD: Vehicle theft suspect flees - to bed for a nap

Folsom police said the arrest of a prison parolee began with an anti-theft alert on a stolen truck and ended with an attempted nap.

Police gave this account:

An officer patrolling about 12:30 p.m. Monday on East Bidwell Street near Oak Avenue Parkway picked up an alert on his LoJack monitoring unit.

LoJack systems are hidden on some vehicles. When a vehicle theft is reported to police, the LoJack is activated, which emits a signal.

Police cars are equipped to listen for the signal. The LoJack alert led the Folsom officer to a white GMC 2004 truck on Greenback Lane near Walnut Avenue.

Folsom police tried to stop the truck at Greenback and Hazel Avenue. The driver fled in the truck until it crashed into a parked van at Trajan Drive and Greenback Lane in Orangevale (see Folsom Police Department photo below).

The driver and a passenger in the truck then jumped out. The passenger was apprehended by the owner of the van and arriving officers.

The driver is suspected of making his way to nearby Wedgefield Way where police said he broke into a house. He was found by Sacramento County Sheriff's Department police dog teams and Folsom officers.

"The stress of fleeing police and crashing caused the driver to attempt to take a nap in the resident's bed," stated a Folsom police news release.

Tony Solomon (photo left), 31, of Folsom was arrested on suspicion of evading a police officer, vehicle theft, possession of a dangerous weapon and committing a crime while on bail, the release states.

Nope, no head injury. No psychosis. No known history of being abused as a child. No wife that left him for another man. No unfair allegations of criminal behavior. No military service, causing him PTSD.... (Short list, because I have to go to work...)

Just a 'Stone-Cold Chump...' that preys on anything, and everything...!! (his way, of giving back to the community...!)

This guy came speeding up on me at Greenback Lane and Pecan. If it were not for the siren's I would have been hit by this guy weaving in and out of traffic. He barely missed the front end of my car as I was pulling over to the side. I watched him continue to weave thru the traffic at Greenback and Hazel with the Folsom PD on his tail, he went into the right hand turn lane at Hazel and proceeded across Greenback where he almost lost control there. Thank goodness the light turned green as he went barreling through. So glad he was caught!

2 possibilities in my mind:

1) I talked to an old retired prison guard from Folsom. He said there were guys who just felt 'more comfortable' in prison. He said they'd get out, promising never to return. They spend a few days with their wife/girlfriend, maybe the kids. Kiss their mamas, then sit down to watch TV and start to get antsy. Someone would suggest a visit to the bar, or that they get high, or that they go get some money, and the next thing you know, they're back 'home'.

2) A sociopath who just believes in doing whatever the hell he wants to whenever he wants to and doesn't care who gets hurt, including himself.

I wonder if '3 strikes' applies.

I have a friend who was raised in a country with very strict laws, and he tells me that a guy like this would have a hand cut off and be sent to prison FOR LIFE!

Yeah, we are going to be in big trouble, as they start letting out these well intentioned parolees that were perfect in prison. I think we will be seeing more of this.
There could have been so many people hurt or killed had that light not have changed.

Thank goodness the light turned green as he went barreling through.

And this, small bear, is why you never enter an intersection without paying attention to what might be coming at you illegally. Driving test in a couple of weeks! Sigh.

why is FPD never in Folsom, shouldn't that be borderline Sac County Sheriff jurisdiction?
