In the mail today, received a notice from "City of Folsom Alarm Administration Program". It asks that I go to this website - https://www.crywolfs...es.com/folsomca, enter some code numbers provided in their letter, and then update user information. They got my zip code wrong, and provided a password printed in the letter. This isn't very secure. They should be asking me to set up my own password to keep it private. THIS LOOKS LIKE A SCAM to get your personal information and information about your home security system. Has anyone else received this notice? I sent an email to the police dept asking if this is legitimate.

Believe it or not, as unprofessional as it the note sounds, there is reference to it and the company on the city of Folsom website: https://www.folsom.c...arm_permits.asp

I remember being told a couple years ago when I got my alarm permit that they were working to outsource the permit management and will start charging an annual permit fee rather than a one-time fee. We may have even discussed it here. Either way... official or not, yes, it is a scam.
