Sounds great! Thanks for posting...

I wonder if Wine show regular Bob Culbertson will have his spot... he is an astounding musician and his Cafe San Francisco disc is perfect for a little wine on the patio. Kind of a bluesy/jazz...very unique...

Bob improvises some "jazzy blues" in Colorado

He is working on an upcoming Beatles disc. Check out While my guitar gently weeps

BTW, The Itunes store has samples off the Cafe disc.

So who is Shane Dwight & is he really that good? My friends are going nuts over seeing him on Sunday afternoon.

Had a great time at the Art & Wine event. Go early, and have mimosas on the patio at Bistro 33. Eight bucks for as many as you want from 10-2 (I think). They start the lunch menu at 11:30. Fantastic way to start the event (the actual wine tasting doesn't start until 12:00).

Bob Culbertson was indeed there, and was playing all kinds of requests. All that was missing was a couple comfy chairs and wine service, and we could have set down roots right there.

As it was, we sampled quite a few vineyards that we hadn't tried before.
Of course your mileage will vary, but our favorites were:

Nello Olivo--Toscanello

Gold Hill----Barbera

Very few Cabs (that is our default favorite), but a LOT of Zins and blends. Some of the blends were pretty good. Mt Aukum only had a few samples (no BDX or Malbec), but The Cellar still has a few bottles of the Malbec I'm told. It sells out fast.

I must have missed some, but I didn't see Lava Cap or Cantiga there. Cantiga usually has some excellent food pairings to go with the wines.

Drop off the kids, and take mom out for brunch, wine and browsing of vendors for a few hours. They put on a nice event in a nice venue.

We decided to skip it this year because it was going to be in the 90's, and past experience has proven that red wine and hot sun don't always pair well. I was at another similar event the night before (indoors). The owner of Colibri Ridge was there and told me he'd have everything on ice. Had a chance to meet Nello Olivo and tried some of his wine. Pretty good stuff.

I'll see if Mrs. H wants to give it a try today.

Shane Dwight was awesome!! It seemed there was twice as many people there today, but it still wasn't too crowded. And the weather was perfect.
