Just to wanted to let everyone know that there are two family friendly shows running right now at Sutter Street Theatre.

Folsom's Gold is a fun musical romp through Folsom and the Gold Country from 1848 through 1885.  The production celebrates America, California and the heritage of the Gold Country through song, dance and storytelling.  This original production by Sutter Street Theatre was initially developed through a grant the National Endowment of the Arts, Arts Works Program.

Folsom's Gold closes this weekend.  Shows Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 4pm (Friday is sold out!)

and

Two Dumb Dogs

This hilarious comedy has lessons that include discovering self-confidence, using your brain and recognizing that following rules is sometimes a good thing.  This is fun for the entire family.

Ferdo and Floof are two not-very-bright dogs-well...at least not to your average fifth grader. The dogs strongly desire to break the rules of their owner, Roger, and constantly get into trouble in the process. Their adventures take them on a trip to seek fame and fortune on their own. They enter the enchanted forest-despite the warnings of the wise old owl-and encounter a cursed prince who has been turned to stone by the terribly wicked Queen Malevella; a hapless poodle Mimi and the legendary Dog Shouter. Ferdo and Floof must rally their brainpower to release the prince and escape from the queen's dungeon.

Two Dumb Dogs runs Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00pm from June 7 to July 6.

love that theater.  Folsom's own.  the scale is perfect for kids and its very accessible for them to grasp what is going on.  great learning experience too.  plus the actors pour their heart into the productions.  and afterward there is Snooks conveniently located just a few doors down.  :)

Knowing the past helps deciphering the future.
