While flying last week I just could not figure this out. Are people everywhere getting huge or are airline seats getting smaller? And why do I always get the guy/woman that SHOULD be forced to pay for 2 seats instead of overflowing into the ones on either side?
Oh, and there really seems to be a decrease in personal hygene use, at least for people who choose to fly.....

I'm constantly amazed at the number of sloppily obese people I see on a daily basis. And when I see 'em jamming themselves into a small car, I just can't help staring in dumbfounded amazement. So, yes, Darth, you're not alone in your observation. If I looked like that, I'd be too ashamed to show my chubby face in public. Where's the shame? Where's the embarrassment? I don't get it...
I have opinions, you have opinions. We'll just call it even...is that OK ??

Yeah. I still have PTSD from the "Quit Hogging all the Rascals at the Supermarket and Leave Them for People Who Really Need Them" thread war of 2006.
It got real ugly real fast.

People are getting bigger, airplane seats are getting smaller and closer together and it seems like people who fly are trying to save water by not bathing. All of the above. If this keeps up we will have A-380's taking the place of 737's just to get 150 people from one place to another.

People are getting fatter. It's the American way.
Stop shoving their pie hole with Micky D's and all the other garbage they throw in there and we wouldn't have this issue.
(btw, I'm 5 (five) pounds overweight. I need to slim my chunk arse down)
What work I have done I have done because it has been play. If it had been work I shouldn't have done it. Who was it who said, "Blessed is the man who has found his work"? Whoever it was he had the right idea in his mind. Mark you, he says his work--not somebody else's work. The work that is really a man's own work is play and not work at all. Cursed is the man who has found some other man's work and cannot lose it. When we talk about the great workers of the world we really mean the great players of the world. The fellows who groan and sweat under the weary load of toil that they bear never can hope to do anything great. How can they when their souls are in a ferment of revolt against the employment of their hands and brains? The product of slavery, intellectual or physical, can never be great.

Mind if I print that out and tape it to my fridge?

While the leg room is constantly changing, the width of seats have not changed. Only our phat arses have gotten wider. Even worse than the phat arse is the upper body width of some of these guys! Their shoulders come waaaay over the invisible line of personal space. Damn right they should have to buy two seats! Why should I have to lean to the side and pretty much donate half of my space because he doesn't realize that it's ok to get a doggie bag when dining at the American House of Lard?
