This is a stupid move by an ignorant person. I hope he gets the backlash he so richly deserves. If he thinks America is so racist, he is welcome to try any other country on Earth and look for a better deal...

In fact, America is so oppressive, it allowed him to earn over 100 million dollars, has a black President, Attorney General and multitudes of other officials including mayors, governors and heads of agencies. What more does he want?

He's an idiot and thug, and he's being *roasted* all over the internet. Even Drudge is running it as his top story. 49ers will release him after the San Diego game on Thursday, hopefully. Remember, the people who are obsessed with race are the TRUE racists in our society.

Joe,  couple thoughts...

There are no laws requiring people to stand during the national anthem.  If there were, it would violate the free speech clause in the 1st Amendment.  That said, it's strange that someone who has benefited hugely from living here (as you point out) would not pay his respects.  I've watched bits and pieces of his career (not a huge football fan here) and the image I have is of a person with tremendous physical talent, but not so much in the mental department.  He seems to be his own worst enemy, but right now it doesn't matter.  He's got money.  I suspect he is surrounded by a legion of "hangers-on", many of them there only looking for a free ride in life.  And they'll bleed him dry before he's ever figured out what's happening.  Once the money runs out, they'll be out of there on to the next stupid celebrity.  Finally, my bet is he'll end up as a used car salesman in Blimp, Nebraska, living in a trailer with a pathetic life.  Karma has a way of equalizing everything.

I know there are no laws, and he is perfectly welcome to sit down. I only hope he reaps the consequences of his actions.  He is obviously not too bright.

Since we "oppress people of color" in his mind, I wonder if he would care to comment on the vastly disproportionate number of black athletes in his chosen profession. Perhaps we should make it all "equal" and have affirmative action for white people in sports....

I'll just put him into that "useful idiot" category and lament the loss of critical thinking in our current sound bite society.

Kaepernick was raised by two white parents after his own birth parents weren't willing or able to raise him themselves. If the country is fundamentally racist, doesn't the fact that two white people chose to raise an abandoned black child offer persuasive evidence that his analysis of the country's racial attitude is overly broad and not supported by his own life experience? Again, he's an ignorant fool who's been brainwashed by the Left in this country to believe that there's a racist hiding behind every tree. Sickening.

I don't care if he ever plays again.   SUCK...

On the other hand  Hope Solo gets kicked out of soccer for saying what she thinks about another team.

Go figure.

That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

Part of me just doesn't care about Kaepernick and part of me is enraged.

I always get a kick out of ultra-rich throwing hissy fits about an unfair system, the same system that pays them millions and millions of dollars.  If the system is so unfair, then spend every last dime of your money other than what it takes to live comfortably and make a difference in young people's' lives.  When you complain and do nothing to improve the system, then you are simply part of what is wrong with the system you seem to hate so much.

So Kaepernick, the *black pride QB*, called a Chicago Bears player "the N word" in the year 2014 and was fined $11K by the NFL. Story below.

So I guess in addition to being a moron, Kaepernick is also a hypocrite. What a fool.  :football:  :footballhelmet:

I find it funny that since he's been exposed as a terrible QB (for a long time now since the Defense stopped covering for him) that he suddenly has the Malcolm X hats and T shirts on and has the radicalized looking hairdo. I guess since he has enough cash he can pick his "cause" and is using what little time he has left in the NFL for his stage to promote it.

Yes they are the racists...The use of the word thug for instance is definitely racist. Especially when used against an educated professional football player who is only exercising his first amendment rights. They come out from under their rocks right away and use words like thug. Its so obvious.

While I disagree with Kapernick I respect his right to take a knee for a cause he feels is worthy. It was a no win for him but he stood by his convictions. He is NOT like Trumpolini who says whatever people want to hear. One week he is for abortion, the next not. etc etc..get over yourselves or would you prefer to live in a country where one is NOT allowed this form of protest? Nobody got hurt. Duh, :juggle:

The best result of this entire situation is the continued low NFL ratings.  There are consequences to their actions and the networks and owners are paying.

Thug indeed, a dumb one at that, although rich I assume.  Stopped watching the 49'rs, don't care anymore, all cause of him. I vote with my wallet.  Once he's gone I might start watching again.  Did the same with Terrel Owens, stopped watching until they got rid of him, did not care.  No race involved here folks, just dumb narcisistic atheletes, move along, nothing to see........  Stop pulling the race cards out, getting very old by now.  Chris

NFL ratings are indeed down, but there's so much more to it than Colin Kaepernick. Bad officiating, bad games, too many commercials, competition from other entertainment options, and length of game are cited among the reasons. The players themselves, like Kaepernick's protest, Tom Brady cheating, Ben Roethlisberger, Darren Sharper and others having sexual assault charges against them, are all factors, but to say that rating are down because of Kaepernick fails to take into account all of the other factors.

The dictionary defines 'thug' as 'a brutal ruffian or assassin', 'a violent person'.

Kaepernick is hardly that.

It's funny, when he was selected by the 49ers and when he played well for them, he was hailed as a great kid, an underdog who always had to fight for a roster spot, an intelligent kid who gave back to the community and visited kids in hospitals.

Now that he protests whatever he's protesting, he's a thug.

Ok Steve, if you don't like thug then maybe punk is more appropriate. Thug still works for me though.   And dumb still sticks, and sticks really well....!   Stands there, I mean kneels there, protesting the country of his birth.  And this is a guy who makes more in a day than you and I do in a year.   And stupid is as stupid does, he wore a fidel castro shirt to an anti oppression rally....?  Kid is not too bright. And your kidding yourself about Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, Darren Sharper et al being the reason for low NFL ratings....   Yes, we dislike those men, but we really hate traitors, people who hate America all while living the good life here, a really good life, that most of us will never experience.  He was graced with being born in the best country on earth, graced by two loving parents who adopted him, blessed with amazing physical abilities, and was able to go to a great college, UNR, for free.....!  Yes, America sucks is all he can see and say....!   I think the BLM movement has been hijacked by racist, violent, radicals and has undo influence on the young and dumb like Colin.  This is the reason for low ratings, this is America pushing back and saying no way, and voting with their wallets.   Then there is Nessa, maybe his liberal activist, islamic, ISIS sympathizing, BLM advocate girlfriend has a lot to do with it...?   I'll stop here because this is not the politics section and the coming accusations calling me "racist" and "islamophobic" polluting this thread. Chris
