There have been a rash of gun store breakins throughout the valley over the last few months.  STS looks to be the latest victim.

This just reinforces the argument that regardless of how strict we make gun laws in this country the bad guys WILL find a way to get them.

The Rocklin store that was also hit apparently has a number of safes where they store guns overnight.  STS looks to have 15+ guns stolen.  You would think that every gun store would be as careful as Rocklin Armory given how common these smash and grab thefts are now.  Hopefully all guns will be recaptured from the thieves.

This seems strange to me.

You'd think that gun stores would be fortified like Fort Knox...or a Brinks truck, etc. I always assumed they were unbreakinable.

If it's that easy to break in, and they don't lock away the guns in big heavy safes, then that's a problem.

And ya gotta love that the thugs have a "I'm Ready for Hillary" bumper sticker.

You just can't make this stuff up !! How appropriate !!  :who-me:

STS has metal rollout doors that cover the entrance but apparently its no match for a vehicle.  I drove by there earlier today and they were cleaning up around front where they smashed in with their car.

I heard on the news this morning that Rocklin Armory was just a few days away from putting up cement polls to prevent this type of crash and grab.  Maybe all gun stores should think about it.

We should also require tougher gun laws too! That's stop'em.

I'm pretty sure the robbers do want tougher gun laws.  I saw they had a "I'm with Hillary" bumper sticker on the car.

Well it looks like these guys win the dumb criminal of the day award.  Rather than using a stolen or rented car to smash into the place it looks like it was a personal car. The police tracked the license plate on the black Honda SUV down to an owner in Oakland.   Several arrests made last night in Oakland so looks like they will likely recover the weapons.  Even one of the thugs in the surveillance was wearing an Oakland hoodie.  Dumb...

A question for the lawyers.  With CA's crazy liability laws, if a stolen gun is used in a crime, is the gun store owner now liable?

No. Been tried and failed so precedence exists.

BTW: While Governor Brown and the Democrats have criminalized millions of California Gun owners <when he passed the recent bills>, he specifically chose to veto a bill that would have made theft of a firearm a more serious offense. So just remember when you hear that this has to do with public safety, manufacturing new criminals by having a newly defined assault weapon is a MORE serious crime than stealing a firearm.

Sacramento Black Rife has already done so.

Kind a sad, STS normally has very low inventory/selection, so this must've hit them hard. Super nice guys. Nice local business.
