I wonder how long until that family can get back into their home. I can't imagine a bank robber busting into our home with our family present with cops in hot pursuit and then shooting and killing him in the house. Glad all the good guys are safe.

School street is the first cross street on Blue Ravine after Target as you head toward the Middle School, right?

Yes. According to the news reports, it happened in the 1300 block, which is between Blue Ravine and Montrose. School Street is a long street that runs from Dean to Blue Ravine.

Coloma to Blue Ravine. strange that the guy ran across the busy street, rather than going south or into the woods across blue ravine.

I read 3 reports so far. One says the guy was arrested, one said he was wounded and one says he was killed.

It's sad, no matter what.

Armed robbery is not a good career move.

Those poor children having to witness that. I imagine they will be having nightmares for a while.

Wonder what makes a young person so desperate to put others at risk and ultimately lose their own life for so little money. Wonder if drugs had a role.

Bank robbery suspect fatally shot after fleeing into Folsom home

A Folsom bank robbery suspect was shot and killed late this afternoon after leading law enforcement officers on a foot chase through a residential neighborhood.

Folsom Police Sgt. Jason Browning said the robbery was reported at 5:11 p.m. at the Wells Fargo bank at 1113 E. Bidwell St., near Blue Ravine Road.

The suspect fled, leading officers on a chase over business rooftops and through back yards. In the 1300 block of School Street, the man entered a house through the rear of the residence, where a family with small children was at home, then ran out the front door. When confronted by officers, the man ran back into the house, Browning said.

Officers, fearing for the safety of the family, followed the suspect into the home. Officers fired at the suspect when they found him in a bedroom, Browning said.

The family members and officers were were not injured.

Folsom police, along with Sacramento police and Sacramento County sheriff's deputies took part in the pursuit. Browning declined to say which agencies were involved in the shooting.

He said the pursuit concluded about 25 minutes after the robbery was reported.

Browning described the suspect as white man in his 20s but said police had not yet identified him.

I will add that he was shooting at the police as he was running. so the cops had every reason to use lethal force.

sacramento county sheriff shot him. in the back.

Not Folsom coppers. Sac Pd and Sac Sheriff?

How did they respond to this so fast?

Wow. Very interesting set of circumstances. Almost like that guy was not only gonna fail; but he was destined to fail.

The Sac Sheriff (or PD, can't recall) was off duty and happened to be at the Target when it went down and chased the guy. Not sure how the other LE got there but it seems they were all over this.

A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

Well, I think they do handcuff shot bad guys even if they have very obvious physical signs of no longer being alive. I believe it is procedural for safety. This is how they they term neutralized and need EMS.

But this whole thing seemed very fast acting. Absolutely amazed it was on here before News10. Goes to show you, like I have suspicioned for some time, we have News10 lurkers looking for stories....
