The Lumiaria displays in Folsom pretty much failed this year.

The air was too damp, so many of the bags fell through. The wind was too strong.

Many of the bags blew over and burned, or were snuffed out.

Of 15 bags I put out only 5 worked properly.

Oh, well . . . maybe next year.

When we went through I was disappointed to see so many houses that didn't participate.  We also saw a lot that didn't have enough or any sand.  Was there a sand problem this year?  I was a block captain when we lived in the neighborhood but we have moved.  We would like to do it in our new neighborhood.

Our block captain quit about 5 years ago because of lack of participation and lack of reimbursement from those that did participate.

I still don't understand why it wasn't done on New Year's since it was rainy and windy. It was terribly disappointing this year.

Hey, if you want to do it, just do your own yard don't worry about anyone else.

A VETERAN Whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount "up to and including their life". That is HONOR, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. -Author unknown-

That's too bad, I'm sorry. We did this in my neighborhood growing up and it was something I looked forward to. My dad kept the bags and candles and sand as a "kit" in the backyard and we'd make a nice little production line.
