We need a new HVAC for our home. Looking for recommendations and input on companies you've used for system installation/replacement jobs.

We use Rick White 916-799-5224 for HVAC new install/replacement.  For repairs, we use Dave Rogers, 916-768-5540.  They're both local, professional, licensed, etc.  We have contractor friends who recommended both of them and their work for us has been the best!

Thanks for the recommendation, Terry.

I'm looking for a few suggestions. Does any else have one?

We have been using Golden Aire and really like them. We had some bad work done by another company and asked them to check things out. They figured out what was happening and didn't try to upsell. It's an old local company with lots of experience.
Knowing the past helps deciphering the future.

During the extreme heat last week, many local heating and air conditioning companies engaged in extreme price gouging.  This may violate federal FEMA regulations which forbid price gouging during declared emergencies including those due to very high heat.  Companies are charging $100 to $175 per pound for R-22 Freon, a 400% to 700% markup over what this material is available for on Ebay-$19 to $25 a pound.  And the Ebay prices are retail prices!!!  The contractors pay even less!!!

All of us need to go on the Internet and verify the prices heating and air conditioning companies are charging for materials and read these companies the riot act on their price gouging on parts and materials!!!
