How does it compare to Dickeys or Sierra Smokehouse?
I finally tried it this weekend. Even though the ribs aren't smoked, they are cooked perfectly-moist and tender, but not mushy. I'd rather have this than smoked leather. Sides were good too.
In comparison to:
Dickeys: PB's ribs and sides are much better and they even serve beer and wine. A little more expensive than Dickey's, and meat and sides are ala carte.
Sierra Smokehouse: SS's ribs are better since they are both smoked and perfectly cooked. I think PB has a slight edge on the sides.
PBs ribs are grilled to order, unlike Dickey's which just pulls them out of the warmer. Don't know is Sierra Smokehouse does this too. The glaze is tasty and I didn't need any sauce. The coleslaw has no mayo, and has apples and peanuts; it can be ordered without the nuts. PB's menu is more limited compared to either 2 places with just baby back and spare ribs and hot dogs as the meat offerings. They did have a pulled pork sandwich special. Vegetarians could make a meal ordering a few side dishes.

Thank you. I'm not a fan of ribs, usually get beef brisket, but I'd be willing to try it.

What are the reasons?
1) Grilled ribs just don't do it for me. Given they are all about the ribs I was expecting something as good or better than what I could make at home on my smoker. These didn't make the grade. My entire family said they prefer my smoked ribs over what we tried here. I would take Dickeys (Folsom) ribs over these any day.
2) WHat is up with all the wine and France decorations on the walls? Didn't notice it at first until my wife pointed it out to me. BBQ and Wine?? We just through it was REALLY odd... The place is clean but there is something to be said for an old dirty smokey hole in the wall place with a little character. This isn't it. Feels like your eating in an operating room

No brisket at Piggyback. You can choose from ribs, ribs, or ribs. Best brisket I have had in this area was just recently at Hog Wild BBQ in Placerville. Their sliced brisket sandwich is to die for

That's too bad. The ribs were very good. However, several months ago they went to individually pricing each item as opposed to complete meals with optional sides and under the new pricing the sides were pretty expensive. We would get the ribs on take-out and make our own salad at home.
I'm not sure what you think was so tough about the location, Steve. It wasn't hard to get to and was certainly within short driving distance of many neighborhoods. We never had trouble finding parking, either.

Re: location -
unless you live there, a lot of people from town rarely make it to that center. Businesses benefit from other businesses around - and that center is struggling. If you're not seeing it on a regular basis, you kind of forget it's an option. I don't think I've driven to that part of town since summer. Contrast that to the East Bidwell corridor, most everyone makes their way over there at least weekly, if not daily.

Unless you know it's there, you don't know it's there. The speed limit is 45 going past it, and some folks go faster. It's tucked away in the corner, so people visiting the supermarket wouldn't be likely to see it, as opposed to the sushi place which is next door to it (the supermarket).

The center is booming now with 99 Ranch, 99 Cent Store, Hisui Sushi, and a few other vendors, but Piggy Back was at the most remote part of the center.

According to the Sacramento Business Journal, the Piggyback Ribs spot may soon be a Pho Vietnam restaurant.
