What's MLS and where can I find it on the internet?
MLS stands for 'multiple listing service' and is a network of web-based real estate listing and information services, designed for use by their real estate agent subscribers. It's the means of realtors letting other realtors know about the homes they have listed.
There are hundreds around the country, each being unique to their locality. In the Bay Area, for example, there are MLS companies for San Francisco, East Bay and South Bay. They are seperate companies, and don't always share information with each other.
As public demand for such information has grown, most MLS allow limited access to this information to the public.
MLS.com isn't an MLS at all, but is a national company which links consumers to local real estate agents' websites.

have y'all noticed that dry wall repair truck there all week? the new owners are doing a good job of cleaning up the place, the outside looks better already. who cares what happens to the tweaker, as long as he's out of the neighborhood thats all that matters.

I'm the new owner. It's taken over 3 months of contractors working full-time to get this house back to its former glory and we still have much to do (the walk-thru description a few posts up was fairly accurate...only it was worse than that). Once we get all our furniture in, we'll have a neighborhood open house to meet everyone.

Wow - what a great ending to a terrible thread and series of actions there. Congrats on the home!
Folsom - you got another great family!!
(Still looking to find a place for us to get into that Folsom way of life.)

Julia,
Congrats on the house. This is Scott from the office.
We are SLOWLY looking for a place ourselves, and Folsom and your new address brought up this thread. CRAZY to say the least.
