Let's count the ways Donald Trump has tried to subvert this election, shall we?

https://www.theguard...ubvert-election

1. The founding myth of election night.

"This is a very big moment. This is a major fraud in our nation. We want all voting to stop."

2. The solemn gravitas of spineless senators.

By the time the election officials would be ready to announce the results, there would already be widespread doubt cast on the election’s legitimacy.

3. The solemn gravitas of spineless senators part deux.

“There is no loss from him (Biden) getting the (intelligence) briefings and to be able to do that,” he said. Wrong!
There is a loss – to the ego of one Donald Trump.

4. Everything Rudy Giuliani does.

This week, he was arguing about a global conspiracy involving a couple of dead socialists, a live philanthropist and some voting software.
The effort caused his hair dye, or possibly mascara, to dribble down his cheeks. It was pretty emotional.

5. Everything Lindsey Graham does.

He is also the Olympic gold medalist in the 100-meter walk of shame.

6. The president of the United States browbeats state officials.

He first called two Republican officials in Wayne county, Michigan, to get them to disavow their vote to certify the election results.

7. The deep state of Trump lackeys.

Emily Murphy, who leads the General Service Administration, and has the power to trigger government support for the transition. Murphy refuses to do so.

Tio Vinny, just for fun....!   Your thoughts on the 1960 Presidential election, Chicago specifically, Mayor Daly......  Nixon and Kennedy....?

1960: John F. Kennedy vs. Richard Nixon
Earl Mazo, a Washington reporter for the New York Herald Tribune, began his investigation after he said Chicago reporters were "chastising" him and other national reporters for missing the real story.

He traveled to Chicago, obtained a list of voters in the suspicious precincts, and began matching names with addresses. Mazo told The Washington Post:

There was a cemetery where the names on the tombstones were registered and voted. I remember a house. It was completely gutted. There was nobody there. But there were 56 votes for [John F.] Kennedy in that house.

Mazo also found that Chicago Mayor Richard Daley's charge that other counties were doing the same thing in favor of Republicans proved to be true—but nothing on the scale of what happened in Chicago.

In Texas, Mazo found similar circumstances.

The New York Herald Tribune planned a 12-part series on the election fraud. Four of the stories had been published and were republished in newspapers across the country in mid-December.

At Richard Nixon's request, Mazo met him at the vice president's Senate office, where Nixon told him to back off, saying, "Our country cannot afford the agony of a constitutional crisis" in the midst of the Cold War.

Mazo didn't back off, and Nixon called his editors. The newspaper did not run the rest of the series. "I know I was terribly disappointed. I envisioned the Pulitzer Prize," Mazo said.

The entire matter wasn't void of accountability.

Illinois state special prosecutor Morris Wexler, named to investigate charges of election fraud in Chicago, indicted 677 election officials, but couldn't nail down convictions with state Judge John Karns.

It wasn't until 1962, when an election worker confessed to witness tampering in Chicago's 28th Ward, that three precinct workers pleaded guilty and served jail sentences.

Pulitzer-winning journalist Seymour Hersh reported hearing tapes of FBI wiretaps about potential election fraud. Hersh—whose books indicate he is a fan of neither Kennedy nor Nixon—believed Nixon was the rightful winner.

2000: George W. Bush vs. Al Gore
Al Gore campaign aide Bob Beckel intended to make that moral case to Florida's electors—and perhaps electors in other states—who could be convinced to follow the will of the people. Gore did not need all of the state's electors, just four.

For that matter, he didn't think it had to be limited to Florida. He thought demonstrating statistics to prove Gore's win could sway enough of the George W. Bush electors to switch their votes since they were not legally bound.

The Wall Street Journal first reported that Gore's team "has been checking into the background of Republican electors with an eye toward persuading a handful of them to vote for Mr. Gore."

Beckel insisted afterward he never had plans to try to blackmail electors to collect Gore votes, which he thought the article implied. But in an interview on Fox News on November 17, 2000, Beckel said: "I'm trying to kidnap electors. Whatever it takes." Beckel later explained what the Founders wanted: "The idea was that electors, early on, were to be lobbied."

Pro-Gore websites even started popping up, listing the names and contact information of Republican electors across the country, asking the public to barrage them with demands to vote for Gore and follow the will of the people.

Republican National Committee Chairman Jim Nichols sent an email to supporters asking them to "Help Stop Democratic Electoral Tampering." Responding to the chairman, Beckel said: "The Constitution gives me the right to send a piece of mail to an elector."

It never made a difference. No electors shifted, but it did serve as another twist as the 2000 election story unfolded—and another PR fumble for Democrats.

IRONIC TWIST: DALEY’S DAD HELPED STEAL VOTE FOR JFK
By Deborah OrinNovember 10, 2000 | 5:00am
Bill Daley – the pugnacious Al Gore campaign chairman leading the battle to overturn Florida’s vote – is the son of Richard “Boss” Daley, who helped steal the 1960 election for John F. Kennedy.

Daley sent the stock market tumbling yesterday as he fumed that the 2000 vote is “an injustice unparalleled in our history” – but many historians say the 1960 vote could certainly be a contender.

The difference, historians say, is that, in the end, Richard Nixon decided to act like a statesman and did not challenge the 1960 results – although some Republicans tried, but didn’t get far.

But historians generally agree that Daley (dad) actually “stole” Illinois for Kennedy by stuffing ballot boxes and voting dead men, while Daley (son) is raging about a ballot that was confusing rather than deliberate fraud.

In another huge irony, Daley blasted the “butterfly ballot” used in Palm Beach County as unacceptable, even though Chicago – where Daley’s brother Richard is mayor – uses “butterfly ballots,” though not for presidential votes.

In 1960, Kennedy won Illinois by just 8,858 votes out of 4.8 million cast, amid loud charges that Boss Daley, Chicago’s mayor, had stolen the election.

Fraud wasn’t just a Chicago problem.

In Texas, JFK won by 46,257 out of 2.3 million after 100,000 Kennedy voters seemed to appear magically in future Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson’s state.

Nixon is reported to have said: “In our campaigns, no matter how hard-fought they may be, no matter how close the election may turn out to be, those who lose accept the verdict and support those who win.”

The man later known as “Tricky Dick” also reportedly convinced the now-defunct, Republican-leaning New York Herald Tribune to kill a planned 12-part series on election fraud.

Nixon is said to have told Tribune reporter Earl Mazo: “Our country can’t afford the agony of a constitutional crisis – and I damn well will not be a party to creating one, just to become president or anything else.”

Presidential scholar Stephen Hess, who was an aide to President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1960, said Nixon faced the same choice that Gore will soon face if he loses the Florida recount – how far he wants to press the fight.

“Nixon, by taking the stand he took, which was widely applauded, put himself in position to be elected president in the future. At some point Gore would probably lose the sort of national goodwill that would allow him to be president,” said Hess, who later served on Nixon’s staff when he became president.

“What Nixon faced was a lot worse than what we’re talking about here of confusing ballots. Nixon was faced with real fraud by the father of Al Gore’s campaign manager – they voted tombstones, they stuffed ballot boxes,” Hess added.

Even Republicans now are voicing concern that Trump's hollow court arguments

damage the spotless reputation of the record of the American voting system.
They are shooting themselves in the foot.

Funny, but I have personal proof Trump and DeJoy monkeyed with the election in Pennsylvania.

I sent a Priority Mail package to an address near Lancaster, PA.

The tracking number showed the package at the Lancaster Post Office from Oct. 26 to Nov. 5.
It didn't move for those two weeks. Records prove this.

Calling that Post Office: Closed! Phone message "Mailbox Full."

I wonder how many mail in ballots were languishing there along with my package.
Called the national Postal Service number:
Message:
"Covid-19 is hampering mail delivery."            :BREAKDANCE:

Repeat that Trump-DeJoy scam by how many cities across the US!!??

Yeah, there was cheating, but ALL from the Trump side.
Too bad the overwhelming vote for Biden swamped the scam from succeeding.  :BNANADANCE:

Maybe the postal workers union decided your "Priority" was not their "Priority"...?

Oh, and not a comment on the 1960 election from you but yet you say you have personal proof Trump and DeJoy monkeyed with the 2020 Pennsylvania election....?

You are amazing....!

Kind of ironic, isn't it...

“Carrots, I’m sorry to tell you, the result did not change. It’s too bad for Carrots.”
