Wow, what a finish! MadBum is the man and the Giants take it at the very end. I have to admit that on that hit and error in the ninth I was worried, but Bumgarner worked out of it and took the game.

That was a great series and fitting finale. If I were that 3rd base couch I'd have sent that guy home.
As one friend said, 'They had a better chance of scoring from beating the throw than from getting a hit off of Bumgarner'.

They Royals blew it by letting Perez bat for that last out. He was hurt and shouldn't have been there. And they made the right call by not trying for the in the park HR, he would have been out.
Giants manufactured an amazing amount of garbage runs in the series they played but I guess that's what it takes. And the Royals were pretty much beaten by Hobojoe on the mound for 3 games.
Now it's another year of creased shirts on all the new "fans."

He probably did the right thing, but we'll never know if nerves would have gotten to Perez and he'd made a bad throw.
Speaking of fans, at an average of about 24,000 per game, the Royals ranked 25th out of 30 teams in attendance.

What do I tell my son (9) who asked for a Giants shirt last night as we tucked him into bed?
a) Wrinkle it
b) You can have it, but can't wear it this year
c) You can't have one, you are only a "fan" and not a fan.

Alex Gordon got the triple and would have been out. Perez was batting with 2 outs and ended the game on a pathetic pop up.

if your kid is a fan that's great, get him a shirt and make sure he sticks with the team thru the tough years right?
I'm talking about the guy here at work that just went to Costco to look for a championship shirt since they were all sold out at Sports Authority last night. He's never been to a game and can't even name a player on the starting line up.

They new the book on that guy. Apparently, he can't resist a high fastball, and so that's all they threw him. Posey was practically standing behind him.
They did their homework.

I'm no lover of bandwagon fans, but who are we to judge? Is it better to be sour and negative like the post above, but be a "real" fan? Or can we just let people be whatever they want to be without condemning them and trying to make ourselves feel superior? Sheesh.
Good job Giants AND KC.

According to the ratings, it was the least watched WS of all time. Everyone watches the Super Bowl even if their team isn't in it. Not that way with baseball. Fair weather fans suck. Same with some fw Giant fans as well. There were tons of people buying Giants gear at Sports Auth. yesterday. The band wagon has a waiting list.
The new commish needs to address the issue of the length of games for sure. New blood. Never a fan of Selig. Giants had a great run, deserved to win it, Bruce is the best manager in baseball and I'm not even a Giants' fan.
But, it just makes me sick that the east coast simply tuned out just because we didn't have the Red Sox or the Yankees in there. They missed a pretty darn good series with two wild card teams in the finals.

They did indeed do their homework - that's how games are won! Congrats to the Giants! and also to the Royals, that was a great hard fought series!

I love it when a series championship comes down to the wire. I will say we were kicked in the gut with those errors right before the win, but that just makes the win that much sweeter. Right?? I'm kidding, nobody needed that.

When I saw Blanco misplay the ball, I had flashbacks of the A's-Royals wildcard game where during the bottom of the 12th, Hosmer hit a ball to the left-center and the two A's outfielders collided with each other, leading to a triple. Glad Mad Bum was able to get the last out.
