Normally when I am looking at new posts via VIEW NEW CONTENT I click on the last post date or time under the last posters name to take me to the most recent post.

THIS IS NOT WORKING for me now ( Win 10- Mozilla).   I get a Tomato Pages logo in the browser tab and a blank screen.

I have to go and click on the topic and scroll to the end ( or last page and then scroll) to find the last post.

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

I am finding other actions also are not being completed and bring up the blank screen.

Sounds like a windows 10 thing.

I have windows 7 and have no problems except with IE which I rarely use anymore.

I still have Windows Vista (I know! I know!) and had the same issue when using Internet Explorer. So I feel for you, Folsom 500 -- what a pain in the you-know-what!!! At some point along the way I noticed that the problem wasn't happening anymore, but didn't think much of it. I'm now wondering if it coincided to when I switched over to using Firefox instead of IE. ???

Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there in case you are using IE. If you are, perhaps try using Firefox to see if that might help. It might or might not, but maybe worth a try.

I am using Firefox (mozilla) and have been using win 10 with no issues for some time now (weeks or so) and have not seen this issue until yesterday...

Also on the comment about keeping 8.1... you will like the new 10.  I have not used the Edge browser ( replaces explorer) but  a few times and shames Explorer. The rest seems faster, has a good feel and no quirks like 8.1 that I have seen yet.

Hey, I just logged on for the first time today. It's been a crazy Monday in the Real Estate biz.

Is it still happening?

For me it is still a problem-  Win 10 Firefox but not an issue before this week.

Why do it that way? Try to click on the TITLE of the thread...and if it is multiple pages long, click on the most recent page, which is UNDER the title of the thread. Experimentation usually solves these things.

AH!!! 2 Aces to the rescue. Or, rather, 2 Aces showed me that I misread Folsom 500's original post. With Windows Vista and Internet Explorer, I would click on New Posts and then click on the TITLE of the thread and it would take me to an error page ("Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"). I just logged into IE and was able to replicate the problem. The only way to read the thread is to click on the Forum link (in this case, "News and Feedback") and click on the Title from there. This only happes with single page threads. For multiple page threads I can get there by bypassing the Title and clicking on one of the page numbers.

Yes, experimentation is how I figured out the workarounds . . . not sure I'd term it a "solution" though. My solution appears to be switching to Firefox! :) Too bad that doesn't seem to be the solution for Folsom 500, since he's already using Firefox.

Folsom 500, I do hope you can find an acceptable solution to your dilemma. I feel your pain.

I do it that way as it is ( was) the most expeditious method to get to the last post-  a single click- as opposed to multiple 'transactions' to accomplish the same feat...

Very odd. Just to clarify, whether I am logged in as 2 Aces or as a guest, if I go to New Content and click on the TITLE of the thread, no problem...but if I click on the time under the last poster's name, I get the error page...I am using IE...not sure why there is a difference in that...but no big deal...I just click on the TITLE...YMMV...

AH- so it seems you have a similar issue clicking on the Time under the last posters name as well....  So Vista- IE,  8.1-IE and 10-Firefox-- similar errors....

Steve ?

I tried the same thing with Win10/Firefox and everything worked fine.  After reading  2 Aces post I played around and found an situation in which I can recreate the (or a?) problem.

Click on a User's Name

Click View New Content

Click View New Content (again) --> This takes you to the latest posts

But watch what appears in the address bar and you can see what is happening.

  1. Click on a User's Name --> that is the user's name that appears in the list of topics following the "Started by" text.  This will show you the member's profile.  In my testing the address bar showed "http://www.tomatopag...hp?showuser=248"
  2. Click View New Content --> this will show a "Sorry, no new content found." message, but notice the bar just above says "Members" and not "Forums".  In my testing the address bar showed "http://www.tomatopag...rch_app=members".  Please note the search_app=members parameter.
  3. Click View New Content (again) --> This takes you to the latest posts.  In my testing the address bar now shows "http://www.tomatopag...arch_app=forums".  Please note the search_app parameter is now set to forums.

Not sure if this is what folsom500 is seeing.
