Sitting at the light at Prairie City and Blue Ravine about 30min ago and witnessed a car blow through a red light heading West bound on Blue Ravine.  Traveling about 45MPH and never even hit their brakes.  Guy in a truck heading North on Prairie City luckily hit his brakes in time but it was CLOSE.  We just sat there and looked at each other in amazement as did about everyone else at the intersection.

I never caught a good look at the driver but am willing to bet there was a cell phone involved.

Bottom Line: If you're going thru a green light, smart people will at least do a quickie glance to the left and right.

We all do that, right ??

You are probably right on about the cell phone involvement.  It does seem like there are more blatant red lights run lately versus someone just trying to get through on a stale yellow.  Unfortunately, it's all too common a sight and will probably get worse towards the holidays.

There's a lot of the converse, too, where people don't go when the light turns green because they're texting/Facebooking, whatever, instead of driving.  Pretty infuriating when you finally lay on the horn and they sprint through what is now a yellow light and you get to wait through another signal.

there is also a term called green light running. Where motorist try to time the light to turn green so they don't have to come to a stop or put on their brakes.  People. slow down and yes, if you are stopped at a red light, when it turns green, look both ways before entering intersection. And if you are a green light runner, think twice about it... it's not worth it.
