I hope this young kid goes all the way this year.

Watch him sing Imagine at the web site below.

I'm a huge fan of this show but didn't get into it until the last part of season 4 when Carrie Underwood won it...

Season 5 was the year of Chris Daughtry, Kelli Pickler and Taylor Hicks... 9 out of that top ten have contracts and are working... I think one young gal got an oscar from that year...

Last year sucked... but this year... this young man has it... and is the man to beat...

But... keep in mind he's got to do that every week and there are some other great guys and gals to watch as well.. this is a much better year... there was another young man that I hope comes back next year that did make it to Hollywood but didn't make the final 24... his name is Josiah Lemming... do a google on him and you'll see he's got a great life story and he's a great singer...

He just got a little too cocky I think because of his age, 18... and just missed the final cut... he pissed off Simon I think and that wasn't a good thing...

This is the one TV program I do make time for...

That kid is an awsome singer. Do you notice that he cries every time someone gets voted out? Very tender hearted.

He is a good kid, and this is his destiny - he's gonna win for sure.

I gotta admit, I'm exactly like EDF with this show and agree with everything he said - its one of my favs, I'm really into it and I never miss it

He's got such maturity for such a youngster and embodies every aspect of musicality that true musicians posses. (perfect pitch, phrasing, etc)

I'm a little concerned about what the IDOL 'pop machine' will do to him after he wins.

I could listen to 'imagine' all day. I can't wait to download his next performance from itunes.

I agree with pretty much everyone's views on him, but also worry that the one week that he screws up that he will go home. We were talking about him on another forum I'm on and one of the ladies pointed out that she was at a show of Bonnie Raitt's that was being recorded and Bonnie Raitt missed a note or something and said: "That's why I'm glad we're recording and I can start over."

And that's a performer with 40 years of experience. This kid is going to screw up at some point and I hope he doesn't pay dearly for it.

Also, I hope he doesn't do the humble "You like me, you really like me!" routine every single week. That's what Melinda Doolittle did last year and Simon finally called her on it. Yes, he's good. he's got to know that and I hope he's not going to act like he doesn't know that all season. That part gets really old.

The kid isn't some raw undiscovered talent. He has been a pro for years. He competed on 'Star Search' when he was 11 or 12 against one of the singers eliminated the other night.

Same is true for several others. 2 were in 'Boy Bands' that didn't make it, and one released a CD that flopped.

Idol doesn't claim that these are farm kids with a dream, but they let people believe that, when in fact, many of these kids are professionals or professionally trained.

He's pretty starry-eyed. At some point that's going to feel a little "put on."
"Sometimes on purpose and sometimes by accident, teachers' unions have a long history of working against the interests of children in the name of job security for adults. And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.

It really doesn't matter if he wins or not. He will receive a contract with someone...

I hate that website. I think it's really mean what they end up doing to people.

That being said, they have some interesting info on there!

I had heard that there was going to be some sort of judge's overruling this year, just to prevent a repeat of the whole Sanjaya debacle. Does anyone know if this is accurate?

I'll search around and see if I can't find where I originally saw that information.
