At any rate, I hope the victim has a full recovery.

Heard a lot of them again last night, too. Hope that doesn't turn out to be more bad news.

I really thought that the number of DUI on riley would decrease and the the number would increase on E. Bidwell/ 50; after Manderes moved/.
And no, I don't blame the crime on Manderes, per se, so much as the over all influence of the number of clubs that are in that area.

Manderes moved less than a mile from their previous location, and there are any number of other places to eat and drink at along E. Bidwell or any other dining area in Folsom.
What does Manderes have to do with anything??
To call them out for anything doesn't make any sense...

Typically we never find out how someone from out of town gets to our community, after they commit a crime?

Manderes is a beer and wine bar and restaurant. You can purchase beer and wine at any non-fastfood restaurant in the vicinity.

I wasn't trying to call them out. I think you misunderstand what I was saying. Or perhaps I didn't say it well.
I was expressing an inner thought- out loud. I was thinking many months back --when they closed, that the constant DUI, pee-in-public, and assaults (probably drunken fights) were concentrated in a very small area.
Yes, there are eateries that serve alcohol throughout town, but this small slice of Riley and E. Bidwell from the historic district over to the bowling alley seems to be a concentration of derelict behavior. I think it may be due to the concentration of establishments that serve alcohol after normal business hours (bars).
I understand that that may not be a popular attitude to have, because the bars are keeping the historic area busy during this depresse economic time, but it just an observation.

this could have been prevented if someone gave the guy a cigarette...the non smoking trend may be more responsible that that Manderes place, or the honkkey tonks on sutter streetSadly this is not the first time, in recent months that the Lake bowl establishment has had issues. Folsom just seems to have a lot of alcohol related crimes. I wonder if there is something the town can do to lessen the # of accidents, DUI, human body exposures, and violent crimes that are plaguing the city.

I do think it interesting to follow trends in behavior, and that is why I made the comment about Manderes. Technically, now that Manderes and Chicago fire are so much closer to Hwy 50 access; I was thinking that the area surrounding the Palladio may become a new target of police interest during bar hours.
The Palladio may not have the benefit of the light rail bringing in and taking out responsible drinking patrons, which seems like a likely reason to wonder if the alcohol driven crimes will go up; in that area.
I am curious how you came to the statement that the new Chief is cracking down on these issues and it is helping?

While it's no secret that alcohol consumption and abuse can and often does lead to poor decision-making, I don't think that establishments like Manderes or the bowling alley are any more to blame for the behavior of drunks than any other establishment.I wasn't trying to call them out. I think you misunderstand what I was saying. Or perhaps I didn't say it well.

I've seen misbehaving drunks in Fats, Land Ocean, Sienna and other upscale bars far away from the area around the bowling alley. In fact, because Manderes does not serve hard liquor, and their beers aren't cheap, I'd say that there is less likelihood of the kind of derelict behavior you describe from Manderes patrons.
My wife and I get out to the bowling alley about once a month or so, and while we've seen a few folks acting foolish, the crowds are generally well-behaved. Same goes for all of the bars in town. Sometimes people get drunk and mis-behave.
Unless it is proven that the bartenders over-served them, those folks have to take 100% responsibility for their own actions.

ok Manderes serves only beer. live experience says beer makes you pee more. the up side of drinking is it makes average looking women beautiful, if only for a few hours
