Pretty pathetic alternatives--- like we need another Starbucks or Bank

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

Definitely not noteworthy, though it appears as if Starbucks thinks Old Folsom is worthy and I bet they'll do business, too, especially close to the lightrail. Too bad it's not something local, but then again, Folsom likes chains.

it's very sad - we don't need another Starbucks, and Lockdown would have been a much better tenant. I'm sure they will do well, but I bet they would do well anywhere.

There is a local coffee place that just opened called The Black Rooster. Oddly, related to same business putting in Starbucks.

That is sad.

I was in the Fisherman's Wharf area of San Francisco today, and along Jefferson Street, where independent businesses once stood, there's now a Starbucks, GAP, Rainforest Cafe, Hooter's, In and Out Burger, and there was a sign announcing a 'Sunglass Hut'.

I suppose Sutter Street will look the same before too long.

How pathetic! What an incredibly bad decision on Jerry's part to put something so incredibly USELESS in old town!!!

Another really nice coffee shop already opened a few months ago on Sutter and there is ZERO need for another coffee shop to be installed a half a block away!

and a bank? we need another bank in this town like we need another hole in the head.

What in the heck is Jerry thinking????? I can only assume that Starbucks and the bank were the highest bidders so he can get the most money from them.

It certainly is NOT an improvement to old town nor will it help the area in any way.

I'm dissapointed in this decision to put such useless business' in old town - what happened to Jerry's grand scheme to revitalize old town? He sure is doing it bass ackwards!

Guess its all about the greed and not about improving old town after all

what a shame

Is a shame to have any chains in old town. Can't blame Starbucks and the bank because they will be very successful there.

I really think it's a shame to see, especially when there is another coffee shop. I hope those of you who are light rail riders go to the Black Rooster and support local businesses. If they were smart, they'd open up a coffee cart at the station.

We went to the Black Rooster today. The coffee was excellent, but very $$$. We will definitely not be making it a habit, but we'll be back. They have gelato, too, which is a nice treat.

Try to visit. They have only been open for four weeks. It would be nice to see them make it.

Jerry at first appeared to care about the historic district but it's evident that he's more concerned about who can show him the money first. Another one bites the dust...

Yeah he did a good job of fooling everyone into believing he cared about the best interest of old town.

Its obvious now his #1 love is of money - not Folsom.

Also a note on Black Rooster, their prices are $$$, but so is Starbucks at 4 bucks a cup
