But in the heat, not so much.
Think I'll have a beer
Gangsters and rednecks
Eye each other from afar
Good luck after dark
Tried a fried Twinkie
Thought it would be oh so good
Better in my mind
My Father in Law
Used to raise some sheep for show
He doesn't eat lamb

Snaggle-toothed carneys
Want me to "Give it a try"
Hygiene is...lacking
----------------------------------
Rides flip, creak and groan
Unnatural bearing noise
close my eyes and pray
-----------------------------------
Polyester bomb
Fat straining at clothes too small
The land of plenty?
----------------------------------
The next Billy Mays
Could be here in the building...
I need a sham-wow...

Said he'd ride this like an old
Mule. Patience needed.
Not a virtue I'm
Familiar with. I also
Want to know I've won.
Though, no doubt, I'll be
Disappointed; as mylo
Rules all with his wit.
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

Constrained by Haiku meter
For most, all for naught

So here's what I think I will do
At least for a time
My poems will rhyme
Until I get bored with that too

The barnyard is the best part
Midway floozies second
Hot air prevails on
Sheep goats cows pigs milking sweat
Slaughter comes for them
Shoot out the damn star
I want a large stuffed teddy
Why can we not win?
I need a sham-wow
And a super-soaker too
I love the pitchmen
California fair
Bigger than the county ones
Still the same crap though
Religion blocks start
Denying equality
Pamphlets litter ground
Piglets suckle mom
Why can't momma turn around?
Commercial farming
Gangbangers shoot guns
Cut in line for Midway ride
Sacramento's youth
Bees making honey
Cell phones, global warming kill
Look at cockroach now
Sturgeon fishy wet
Crawfish picked up pinching hard
Wildlife in tanks
Funnel cakes spewing
Out of tiny hot windows
Heart attack ensues
Up on the large stage
Tap tap tap go little girls
Dreams of being stars
Oinkers lying still
Hands glistening in the light
Showmanship the goal
Fans sleep at beckon
"You are a chicken," he says
Bock bock bock bock bock
Demolition cars
Zoom around the dusty ring
Bash them up real good
Pay for state fair tickets
Must support the government
Else, who will do it?
College kids get paid
Working under heated tents
Goldfish is top prize
LOL, guess we were bored tonight!!

Ha ha. I didn't even read any entries until we finished ours. Your fried tickets is still the best.
(I wrote an english sonnet, but it is really bad, I must be part Japanese despite my heritage, because the Haikus just kept flowing)
