okay, my water heater went out at midnight last night with a big production of noise and clanging all through the house. its gone. need a new one.
so after doing some online research, the Whirlpool gas water heaters sold at Lowes appear to be a solid choice. Here is where I need guidance. The online reviews said to get the model with the 12-year-warranty because its made better.
They offer 50-gallon models a 6-year parts, 1 year labor ($579), 9,-year parts, 2 year labor ($669) or 12-year parts, 3 year labor warranty ($759).
I was told that the tanks are all the same version, same tank, same lining, same burner, all the same features. Exactly the same tank.
I was also told that it might be better to get a 6-year warranty model and add Lowe's own $60 warranty, which would add 8 years labor.
any suggestions?
