This is just sick and a very disturbing trend of violent attacks on the homeless. Almost as sick as the act itself is the fact that this schmucks consider this a "game."

I love how CNN's headline makes it seem as if this is some trend sweeping the nation

While the increase in these kinds of incidents may not fit the definition of "trend," they are clearly on the increase. I've heard numerous stories in the last year or so about violent attacks against the homeless.

Are you sure? Or is there in increase in the number of media stories? You think idiot teenagers never attacked bums before?

Proving once again that unchecked, untempered testosterone can be deadly

The CNN article quoted a report that claimed there were 20 murders committed against homeless people last year in the US.
Wikipedia claims that the US homeless population in any given week is 800,000. 20 murders among a population that size results in a murder rate of 2.5 per 100,000.
According to the FBI, the overall murder rate in the US is 5.5 per 100,000 for 2006.
The story is sad of course on an individual level, but hardly worthy of sensational media coverage.

While I'll agree that girls are no perfect angels and the fights that were are on the news were pathetic, I've never heard of them going out and having a great time killing the homeless. Basically thinking it was just a game and that no one cared about these people.
But the media is making it seem like it's more common than not. Which is also pathetic.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

What the hell? Are you a misandrist now? How about all the girl fights being reported? Surprisingly ignorant from you, Lex.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! CV, give me a break! You always READ so into my statements and you absolutely know I am no misandrist - almost always on the same page with you regarding gender issues.........Note I said UNCHECKED, UNTEMPERED testosterone...why'd that get yours flowing so fiercely? UNCHECKED, UNTEMPERED...referring to a young male with no positive strong, present MALE ROLE MODEL to check and temper their young, base impulses...get my drift now?
There now, feel better. Except, you do have to admit, 90% of violent crimes are committed by men! No question that females are getting more violent in these current times but they've got alot of catching up to do to reach the statistics of their male counterparts...sorry, but it IS a fact testosterone is the variable in the equation...

I guess I misunderstood, I thought this particular forum was for teens to post and talk to each other (not that many do).

I think this has been blown WAY out of proportion.
