Hi Neighbors! I'm new to the forum, this is my first post. I was hoping that someone can help me. About 2 weeks ago someone put a mysterious "thing" in the lake, near Donnelly Circle. Does anybody know what it is or what it is for? It looks like a big sheet of plywood with 2 5-gallon buckets holding it up like a ramp. I believe that it has an anchor line on it too. If it has no useful purpose I would like to go get it. Thanks.

I saw that on Sunday night, and it is an eyesore. If you want to go get it, great!

Hi everyone,
Sorry that our turtle platform is not floating well yet! It was put there by a girl scout troop trying to create a basking area for the pond's turtle population. Their options grow very limited as the lake dries up during the summer. It is designed to lay flat on the water's surface once it becomes water-logged - I know it looks like a boat ramp right now. If you could please be patient and hopefully it will float flat soon and not even be noticable. We might try to put some water in the buckets to level it off - just havn't had a chance yet.

There are turtles in the lake? That's one thing I've never seen here.

And Democrats in particular have a history of facilitating this obstructionism in exchange for campaign donations and votes." . . .Amanda Ripley re "Waiting for Superman" movie.

How does the platform help the turtles? ?are they suppose to hold onto it during the driest part of summer and lay their eggs in the buckets?
