My wife and I were up in the Rocklin area last weekend and stumbled on this place. We are so glad we did. They are a small chain that's a So Cal favorite, and they just recently opened this new restaurant in Rocklin. It's in the shopping center with RC Willey, right off of Hwy 65 (caution - Yahoo maps it totally in the wrong place). Wow! Amazing BBQ! Very authentic Cajun food as well. A great atmosphere. The building is brand new but has the character of a 50 year old roadhouse. They had a cajun style band playing in the lounge. The portions are huge! They smoke their ribs and tri tip all day, on site. I would rate this the best BBQ in the greater Sacramento area! Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

I love Lucille's, too. Well worth the drive. Too bad Folsom is soooooooo busy opening new Mexican restaurants.....we could use some GOOD BBQ in Folsom. Love their biscuits with the honey butter and collard greens....yummy!(Although I have to admit, my husband is REALLY good at BBQ, too.) My only criticism is that they ARE a little pricy for BBQ.....

I work fairly close to Lucille's and have been there many times, including with a bunch of co-workers for company outings.

Its by far the best bbq place in the entire region - the food is outstanding and the ambiance couldn't be better.

Its very well worth the drive but be aware, its not cheap (you get what you pay for).

It's just too bad its not closer to Folsom

When you exit at Blue Oaks take the offramp on the left in order to make a right hand turn. If you take the offramp on the right you will end up going the wrong direction (West) on Blue Oaks.

Now, I have eaten at Lucille's for my 11th time since they have opened. I am lucky-'cause I several customers in that immediate area... hehe. It is the epitome of "class" a BBq joint should be ! I mean cloth napkins- hot wash towels to clean up afterwards etc: A big beautiful building- a great friendly bar-- shoot fire what a combo ??? as far as the BBq is concerned... well I will use my educated (BBq wise) expertise to say that this place has a very good mass appealing tasting food assortment. As with chains of this size and magnitude they strive to produce the best tasting products. I find that lucille's does an outstanding job at this. I however must say that I am not a chain food junkie- whatever the food source. I once met an old man hovering around a Real !! BBq pit and asked him his secret to his great BBq. He said and I will quote ( Son- you've got to make luvs to it) REAL BBq is a slow labor intensive prospect and project- Unlike mass produced BBq from a gas fired- commercial oven... Just my opinions... All BBq is good as far as I am concerned... but it takes luv to make really good (BBq)

For all that is holy man......, will ya just git on it an' open a decent BBQ place in Folsom!!! What's it going to take?
I am dying for some good Q. I was raised by a father that lived for good Q. He would take my brother and I (when we were just knee high) through downtown Oakland to Everett & Jones BBQ. WOW !!! Now my man you are talkin' and walkin ' THE REAL DEAL !!! That is what I am laying down... to ya... it seems many of these kind folks have never experienced REAL BBq- the way is was meant to be. Just FYI we had a branch of Evrett&Jones right here in Sac. Town !!! Mary the owner was a sweetheart !!! for sure.. I do not really know what happened to them (sigh) Well at least for you my friend... have experienced some "down low" and made with love BBQ !!!!

We finally made it out to Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ and loved it! The food is outstanding, price very reasonable, and very worth the drive. "Spotted Dog," a local blues band, performed and they were very good. It's a shame we've waited so long to give this place a try, but we'll be back.
