Residents are unhappy about stadium lighting and football games in the area of Vista Del Lago. Your thoughts?

Move? I'm sure most of the people near there knew or saw what was going on there and being built. It's like buying a house near an airport and complaining about the noise. I used to live near Lembi park and sometimes they'd forget to turn the lights off, it was like ET outside the windows all night long!

Actually this is a TOUCH different, as most of the houses were there prior to the school; HOWEVER, they did know that a school was being built. Did they not know that would include a stadium and lighting for same? They should have made a stink back then, not now as the school nears completion and classes have started, etc etc.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY GIRL.
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

"I paid X dollars for my house. I shouldn't have to put up with ______ ."(fill in the blank.)

Seems to be the town mantra.

You can move the games back to the old high school (Sutter Middle). I miss being able to walk to them.

Being a nerd, I must say, I disapprove of all games that require physical strength rather than mental prowess.

I'm assuming that the games are one night a week, maybe 6-8 weeks a year. So we're talking 6-8 nights out of 365 in any given year. Even if it's 15-20 with other sports I can't see the big deal. I can't see getting too upset about that. rolleyes.gif

I agree... we live by Folsom High and I love hearing the roar of the game in the background. The other night we went upstairs and found my daughter huddled upstairs, looking outside with her teddy bear, and she said she was "watching" the game. How could you not love that?

I say they're SOL - welcome to the ever growing town of Folsom.

They may have paid more $$$ for those views but they didn't buy the right to squash development around them nor the right to stop the high school from playing on their sports fields at night.

Did they not ever realize that a high school was being build near them?

NIMBY's are like a disease....

I'm not familiar with California football schedules, but how much does this really interfere? Four or five home games for three hours? When are the games typically over, around 8?

You'd think that maybe they would support this - don't football games help keep the hooligans off the street? tongue.gif (Presuming these would be the same people who call all teenagers hooligans and hate kids.)
It's Saturday night. I have no date, a 2 liter bottle of Shasta, and my all Rush mix tape. Let's rock.

Which residents? No one in this thread seems to be bothered.

If I lived above the stadium, the football games wouldn't bother me. It would be the band practice that would drive me nuts.

Well, are you classifying them as teenagers, too? Or have you moved on to thugs and scumbags being classified in certain age divisions or all age divisions?

Careful, someone might say you are predjudiced against certain age groups!!! lmaosmiley.gif

1. Drugs happen in daytime
2. Late night parties happen without football games

on the flipside:
3. I'd rather have them at a football game at night than doing who knows what

I think technically the teenagers are punks. Sure, some are thugs and hooligans, but thugs are mostly down in the SouthSac area. Scumbags are everywhere, and aren't confined to a certain age or demographic. Punks and hooligans can be found in a couple hours in front of Target, so get your shopping done early. I hope I have cleared-up the confusion, as differentiating the differences has become a monumental societal problem. Glad I could help.

Class dismissed. wink.gif
