This picture posted by another forumer makes me sad.
I actually ordered one of these for long-distance shooting.
And then Boxer and Feinstein and Oprah managed to get these banned for private citizens within the state of California.
Oprah had this stupid bogus documentary on her show where they employed dumbass comments like, "Gasp! These guns can shoot through a manhole cover! Imagine! Now what business would a private citizen have with this! We have to ban this!"
Nevermind the fact that one of these rifles cost about $7500, ammunition averages almost $4 a shot, can only be fired effectively with the bi-pod (i.e. you can't use them for drive-by shootings: the muzzle blast will blow out your windows & maybe even your windshield as well. Plus, the recoil is equal to that of a 12 gauge shotgun), is almost 5 feet long, weighs about 35 lbs (w/ scope) WITHOUT a magazine, and that a crime has NEVER been committed with one of these rifles, or any 0.50 cal. rifle for that matter.
And, BTW, I'm not some gun-toting toothless hick. I served in the military before, and am a crack shot with a rifle.
The scope on that rifle costs more than $1200, BTW...
