O'brot On Blue Ravine

They've done a little redecorating. The layout's still pretty much the same, but it's softer, more inviting. The colors used were nice and the music was nice too. A lot more welcoming than Ettore's was.
I ordered a small coffee and a chocolate croissant to go. The croissant was so incredibly good I wished I would have stay to eat it because I would have ordered another. Buttery, flakey, chocolaty (but not overpoweringly sweet) and excellent. The coffee was Peerless brand (I believe) and there were four different coffees from which to choose. The french roast was crisp, clean and distinctive.
All-in-all, a big thumbs up. I will be back to try more.

So I'm guessing O'Brot is another coffee/pastry joint?

Great to hear! I really liked Ettore's (went there often) and I'm glad to hear this new place is good.
I plan to go there soon - thanks for the info about it

O'Brot is carrying Ettore's cakes, which is great! Best in Folsom. O'Brot's pastries look good. Lunch was okay. Wierd pasta sauce on their pasta salad. Like french dressing or something, with sweet pickle relish in it. I didn't like that it cost a $1 more to have just mixed greens instead of the pasta salad. I think they're German/Russian, the people that own it. Definately eastern European. Breads are all home made, which makes them super fresh.
Has any one tried Heart of Europe? I keep meaning to go in and try the schnietzel.

No because it isn't open yet. No idea why the delay since they are advertising already.

I hear from a reputable source (my beer vendor) that they are not open yet because they did not initially pass their inspection by the Fire Marshall. They have corrected their problems and have been waiting forever to be reinspected. I cant wait for them to open, the menu looks tasty.

It is super easy..all you have to do is obtain a type 41 beer and wine license, insurance and of course a place to store all the kegs. The only problem is that once I had access to wholesale priced beer..Well lets just say that my tolerance has gone up a little!

Went to O'Brot yesterday and the pastries and croissants are top notch - very good stuff! This place makes it seems like Ettore's never left - its pretty much the same as it always was.

I'm going there shortly to meet a friend. I thought the pastries were better than Ettore's.
