Our dogs escaped from our back yard yesterday, sometime after 8:30 AM. We didn't realize they were missing until about 7:30 PM.

We live on Bittercreek Dr.

They are very friendly and sweet. I've attached a picture of them from last Christmas with our daughter.

Katie is the black dog on the left. She's almost 12, and we think she has some Labrador in her. Jake is the tan-colored dog, he's a mix, we're really not sure what all he's got. He's very friendly, although he sometimes barks at dogs he hasn't met.

Please contact me if you have seen them, we are very anxious to have them home.

Rich, what a bummer. I'll keep an eye out for Katie and Jake. In fact, if anyone finds Katie and pets her, Jake'll come running for some attention too.

I know these guys, have had the daughter in the picture stay with me for a week and I've watched the dogs. They are very sweet dogs and if you see them, you don't need to worry, they are very sweet.

Good luck Rich and I hope that M and L aren't too upset today.

Thanks cw for the encouraging words. M and L and A are quite distraught, these dogs are part of the family.

Unfortunately no, although Jake has one of the high-tech RFID implants.

I will be on the look out for them too! I hope you find them! I'll let my neighbor know too - for some reason all lost dogs flock to her house! I think they know she will do everything to make sure they find their way back home (safe and sound)! She just returned a lost dog on Tuesday night to a very happy owner! biggrin.gif

Good luck. Make sure you put up some signs around! They really help.

We lost our dog (also named Jake) last year for five days. We tried everything...going to the pound and SPCA daily, put ads in the paper plus Craigs List, etc. Make sure you post lots of signs around your neighborhood because that is what eventually led us to getting our dog back. Someone is probably going to post that the signs are illegal, but I know that is what worked for us.

Good luck.

Good suggestions. We have posted signs on mailboxes all around, and provided them to some of the local vets. Also I've posted on Craigslist.

Thanks everyone!

Good luck on finding the poopers!

(When I was a kid, our dog ran away on Thanksgiving, and the very next Thanksgiving, came walking up to the house when we got home from Grandma's house. It was surreal.)

Have you found the dog yet?

From the picture it looks like a yellow Lab and I saw one wandering a couple blocks up from Folsom Hills School at about 3:30 this afternoon. Sorry I didn't read this post until just now. It was on the street that would run into Dyke 8 if you crossed East Natoma. Sorry I'm not that familiar with the area so I don't know the street names.

Rich, that's entirely possible for Jack to be up there! I'll put the word out to my friend who lives just a block or two from Folsom Hills.

Great news... dogs were found, and we've now got them!

Here's the story, as I've heard it...

Yesterday afternoon the school bus from the high school was driving by our house. Apparently our dogs were hanging around near the house. Katie chased the bus, Jake followed. A girl on the bus took a picture (with her cell phone) of the dogs when she got off, and her mom took the dogs to the Placer SPCA in Roseville.

Today, our daughter was talking about the missing bus when she was on the bus home (she wasn't on the bus yesterday). The girl from yesterday overheard, showed her the picture, and told her where the dogs had been taken.

My wife and the kids went and picked them up a short while ago!

A happy ending!
