This is addressed to those people who felt it was worth their time running to the admin to get my sig line shortened: instead of being a juvenile and petty, "grow a pair" as the vernacular of the day goes and address me directly. Why do you feel the need to cowardly report me to the owner? Have I sinned against you?

My sig line is something of immense personal significance. It does not contain profanity, vulgarity, double entendre or in anyway attempt to impose anything religious upon you. If you want to find things to complain about, start by looking at yourselves and see how you can make yourselves better people. Haven't you got better things to do with your time?
And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes; Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king. Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego. But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs. And the prince of the eunuchs said unto Daniel, I fear my lord the king, who hath appointed your meat and your drink: for why should he see your faces worse liking than the children which are of your sort? then shall ye make me endanger my head to the king. Then said Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink. Then let our countenances be looked upon before thee, and the countenance of the children that eat of the portion of the king's meat: and as thou seest, deal with thy servants. So he consented to them in this matter, and proved them ten days. And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king's meat. Thus Melzar took away the portion of their meat, and the wine that they should drink; and gave them pulse. As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.]

It is the Sacred Heart of Jesus. -- More info for anyone interested: http://www.newadvent...then/07163a.htm

Can't we just let it be? Unless John, our webmaster, has a length limit on sig lines, what is the problem? No one is forced to read it. Is it really worth arguing about?

Yes, there is a "soft" length limit, it's subjective (I've exceeded it before).

No, it isn't worth arguing about, especially from a user with only 18 posts.

If Jesus was a user, I'd bet he'd have a shorter signature.

I do not have any rules regarding length, as nobody had brought it to this until now. I had received no less than 4 complaints about this from separate users, so I felt compelled to address it. I hate playing "cop", so don't think this is something I really wanted to address.

Keep in mind, it's not the content, it's the length. The sig is actually much better than it used to be... but seriously folks, your signatures should not be any longer than 3-5 lines. I have to pay for bandwidth here. Please don't take my inch and take it a mile.

Once again....I think it is someone trying to get attention......almost like my 4 year old does every now and then. I guess my main question would be....WHY? If I was a Satanic follower would a gruesome picture of Jesus being speared on the Cross be okay? If I was an aethiest, would a picture of Jesus with a big red circle/slash be okay? How about the gay swimmer we have on the forum? Two guys going at it on a heart shaped velvet mattress? Is that okay?

You talk about people "growing a pair".....how about you leave your religious beliefs and crap like that to yourself?

Absolutely! smile.gif

When the Pharisees and Sadduces were squabbling and trying to test Christ, He was able to sum up the "whole law and the prophets" in two short sentences (The Greatest Commandment).

This doesn't need to be made into a personal attack against me for believing in religion and in no way have I ever tried to force my beliefs on someone else here. Some choose to have witty remarks as sig lines, others have what they feel are amusing graphics. People use what they want to represent themselves and that is all I have done. I don't think your tone and attitude towards me is deserved.

I have not been trying to seek attention, am trying only to merge into the fabric of the forum but some people have felt that my lengthy sig line - which I have reduced significantly - warranted speaking to admin about rather than making their points to me. Anything wrong with that approach? I would have explained to them, as I have done in a post when questioned about this before, why I have the sig line I do and hopefully they would have understood its personal meaning to me and accepted it.

If it's personal to you, why not keep it personal. Does everyone have to know all your personal beliefs.

This whole thread cracks me up. Is anyone forced to read anything posted here? No, they are not.
