When does my Mello-Roos expire?
Not all Mello-Roos taxes have an expiration date.
Some Mello-Roos taxes fund ongoing maintenance, fire and/or ambulance services, etc. These do not expire unless an expiration date was approved when the district was formed.
Some Mello-Roos taxes are used to pay for improvements like roads, sanitary sewage systems, etc. If the improvements are financed with bond proceeds, the bonds will have a specific maturity date. This is typically referred to as the “expiration” date.
You can find out if/when your Mello-Roos special taxes expire by comparing the line items on your Placer County tax bill with the appropriate Community Facilities District , listed on our website http://www.rocklin.c...s_districts.asp and note any expiration date.

Exactly what parts of Folsom do not have it? Are there any left?
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

At least we in NS do not have HOA dues or the Biddy's that run the HOA's - or the ridiculous rules that some have - -
Mella Roos varies all over town- some neighborhoods have them - some do not - and even in NS it depends on the developers agreements with the City at the time they built the tracts... so no real map of who does and does not have them in Folsom -- likely the old town section does not but there are other tracts that dont as well...

Don't be scared of Mello Roos. It is a bond that pays for infrastructure, such sewers and sidewalks when new developments are built.
From the City website:
The City of Folsom has partnered with a Professional firm in order to better serve the Property owners in the City. Questions regarding your Mello-Roos or special assessment district please call NBS Government Financial Group toll free at
1-800-676-7516
Who is NBS Government Finance Group?
NBS assists cities and other public agencies with the administration of real estate-based financing and funding mechanisms and is one of the leading firms in the nation providing that service. California offices are located in Temecula, and San Francisco. They have a staff of professionals who stand ready to assist the City of Folsom and its residents with their Mello-Roos and special assessment districts. NBS provides expert answers to all your questions and concerns about the district in which you live. Feel free to call them or visit their Website at www.nbsgfg.com.
What can NBS tell me about my tax bill?
They can provide information on how much you owe for your Mello-Roos or special assessment district this year; how much was paid in previous years; and what the projected amounts are for future years. They know why the district was formed and what improvements or services it provides. They understand how the assessment or special tax was calculated. They can tell you how much your landscape and lighting assessment is, and what district you are in.
What else can NBS tell me?
If you are considering paying off you lien, they can provide you with the payoff amount. If you are delinquent on your property installments, they will tell you how much you owe and what you need to do to become current. They can provide the notice of special tax, as required by law, if you buy or sell property.

I believe that's an L&L issue (maintenance), not Mello Roos. Call the city and they should be able to give you the number for the L&L people, or might simply put in your request for grass replacement. Whenever we want something fixed in the L&L areas we just call the city. They're actually pretty quick about taking care of things.
