I've seen 2 choppers, a small plane, an ambulance, and lots of sirens. Looks like something ugly happened on 50. If you are commuting today I would recommend getting on at Folsom.

FOLSOM, Calif. -- A big rig overturned on Highway 50 in Folsom on Friday morning, resulting in a traffic backup, the California Highway Patrol said.

The wreck occurred shortly after 8 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the freeway just west of Prairie City Road.

Two lanes of the freeway were blocked as rescue workers attempted to help the driver get out of the truck.

The truck hit the white car. It almost looks like the white car may have tried to make a right turn off the freeway and possibly cut in front of the truck. The truck driver was finally taken to the hospital via ambulance not life flight according to channel 4 news this morning. They cancelled life flight...

Radio news was reporting that they had to close the highway for the life flight copter and advised travelers to take Whiterock Road.

It's a strange location for an accident of that sort. The weather was clear. It's not as if there's an onramp nearby with merging people coming from Hazel to Eastbound 50.
