Does anyone know anything about the "Stranger Sighting" on Briggs Ranch Road today? I got a phone message from the principal at Folsom Hills Elementary saying that they received a call from a neighbor saying a strange slender man wearing a red sweatshirt with a black face mask was seen walking along Briggs Ranch Road this AM around 9 AM. All this news about strange looking people prowling around our schools sure does make me worry.

"strange slender man wearing a red sweatshirt with a black face mask"
Yeah, it was pretty dang cold! I almost worn my "Face Mask". I thought it was going to snow!
"phone message from the principal at Folsom Hills Elementary"
That principal must have nothing to do. Why the thought of it, phoning a parent and leaving a message about a strange man wearing a black face mask! That's just discussing! (sic)
What is he thinking?
People just love to be "Fear Mongers"! We all know Folsom has absolutely NO CRIME! (sic)
Don't we?

Haven't clicked on the crimelocater yet?
I guess me being sarcastic isn't one of my strong suits. My post wasn't serious....
I feel there is more than enough crime here, but by the way a lot of people post, you'd think we lived in Never, Never Land. Oh wait, that place was taken over by Michael Jackson! Never, never mind.
I checked out the Crimelocator and it's nothing new to me. I would have posted it myself, but people keep calling me a "fear monger", so I figured I'd let everybody find out for themselves. I really don't think I deserve that stereo typing, but .....some do tend to put labels on some of us.
We don't like to think of crime in Folsom, on this forum. In case you haven't noticed, it's very frowned upon.
People never come here from another community to steal, the Light Rail is nothing but fun and pleasure, and everyday is a holiday here in Folsom. Do you hear the birds singing now?
Nothing like living in ignorant bliss, you know.

Yeah, the principal there, Mrs Wallace, has nothing better to do than call up all of the parents to worry them about some yahoo running around in a mask and sweatshirt............knucklehead.
A concerned parent saw the man walking down the street, called the school to voice her concern, and then the school called FPD to let them know. FPD told them to lock the school down, and part of the school's protocol is to use the alert phone calls to notify the parents that there was a situation. There, wasn't that easy?

The phone alert system is great. It probably saves the school from answering countless calls after Johnny and Susie get home and say, "Hey, my classroom was on lockdown today!," or "Hey, there were policemen all over the school today!" The message usually answers what happened, what's been done about it, and what the current knowns are without causing fearmongering.

For the record, I think the school handled this situation the right way.
But I'm sure a few here think the action was over reactionary and that the strange man was just very cold, and had to wear a face mask to keep it from freezing.
I've been out in freezing weather and never had to wear a face mask. It wasn't THAT cold this morning and it certainly makes one wonder why the need for the mask.
Now, if we lived in Alaska, maybe.

Maybe, but it sure is a long way from light rail to Briggs Ranch.
