the only help I can offer is to suggest you don't ever listen to those blow hards Mike Savage and Sean Hannity for political input, they're not a good resource for knowledge and insight unless you are a hard core conservative.

I'm not sure I can agree with your statement. Why does who the listener is make a difference on if they are a good resource for knowledge and insight or not?
I would say that I think they are a good resource for anyone that wants to hear the conservative opinions on topics, and then you the listener can take what you hear and decide whether or not you agree with their opinions.

I wasn't referring to the listener but rather the sources themselves as the problem.
I disagree that Mike Savage and Sean Hannity are a good resource for conservative opinions - they are too over the top and extreme.
The best recommendation is to go online and read the candidates websites, review their voting records, read what they are saying - listen to the candidates themselves to make your selection - don't listen to overzealous over the line talk show hosts who are just bucking for improved ratings (and advertising dollars) with over played drama and often outright lies about everyone except their personally anointed candidate
heck last I heard those two show hosts don't even like McCain because he's not a conservative extremist enough for them

I like Sean Hannity, he is no worst than CNN being completely for Obama...

Merely a question.
I wouldn't consider McCain to be an extreme conservative.... but folks can decide who's best by listening to both candidates to get a better take on where they stand on issues etc - much better then by listening to talk show blow hards.
merely an answer

That's where we are in this country. It's all about style over substance.
The soundbites. The spin. Hillary's hair. Obama's suits. Hope and change. On Letterman and Leno.
Yeah, pretty inane stuff, unfortunately.

yep, for those radio hosts its all about creating drama to boost ratings and advertising income
its all nothing but sound bites and spin..... Obama's middle name, who he dated in high school, what his wife says, McCain's guffaws and incontinence problems, no change, no hope and so on....
it's all inane stuff and tells nothing about a candidate having real qualifications or not

but wouldn't their websites put the best spin on them possible? i mean they will show the shining achievements, but not their failures...

You're smart enough to ask, now just look for your own answers. Too bad you turn 18 in Dec, but be sure to VOTE next time around! In the meantime, vote with your dollars.

My advice would be to use logic and avoid making choices based upon emotions.
How much of a role should government play in your life? Do you believe people are responsible for their own success or failures or should government level the playing field?
I'd suggest determine your philosophy with regards to government and then find a candidate who best represents that philosophy. No one will ever always agree with any candidate on all issues, but if you share the same basic philosophy, then in theory you should be happy with that candidate.
The most important things to do are to THINK and ask questions!
Good luck!

Wait, whoa. Backup there cowboy.
Mccain's incontinent? That's one I actually haven't heard yet. Not that I care. Don't get me wrong, I agree it's not an issue. I mean, as we know, Woodrow Wilson was a huge bedwetter too (they called him "Wet Woody"), but he never let that stop him from beating the Hun!
If that's true about McCain, it definitely falls under the TMI category.
