We went to Goodfellas for lunch and noticed today that Beyond Juice (smoothie place by Safeway) didn't make it... bummer.

Oh man, the owner Kim is my hairdresser! I'm going to see her next week. That is a total shame. She and Herb are really two awesome, genuine people. This economy really SUCKS!

HUGE bummer! Their smoothies are way better than Jamba Juice. I've chatted w/ the owner a few times and he's great! Sorry to see them go.

That is a bummer. We only went there once, and it was good, but with Express Gourmet and Goodfellas in the same complex, we were torn. We already feel like we are cheating on Express Gourmet when we go to Goodfellas.
I just really want to see both of those places make it.

Exactly the same, except we feel the other way around! Like we're cheating on GF when we eat at EG! hahahah
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING MY GIRL.
We could not be doing this without you.
Much love and gratitude.

I too feel the same way, but must include Felipes as well... I like all of their offerings and feel somewhat obligated to help out the small guys. While Manderas is a stand alone chain, I do not feel any shame if I do not patronize them. I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way but my very good friend had a saying. It's like kissing your wife and your girlfriend in the same room and trying to figure out which one is better... But trust me, I will ALWAYS pick my loving bride..... hehe

Oh no! That is terrible news. I love Beyond Juice! Their smoothies were actually healthy unlike other places. My family enjoys Goodfellas, Gourmet Express and the other places there as well. We support the small businesses!

Chalk that up for one more business took $$ out of equity to open a restaurant and pursue their dreams. Sad news, indeed. I remember that Cinabon place, same story again. That sux!
There is a statistic that 95% of all new restaurants fail within the first 24 months (unless its a chain like McD's, Taco Bell, etc.) yet folks still dream and take that <5% gamble.
See the below family owned restaurants that did NOT make it.

This post is because the thread come up high on the google search and I'm trying to let everyone who ever may buy a Beyond Juice store that they are a money pit. The Beyond Juice Corp is a scam. I tried to start a store in Redding, Ca and it would not even pay the rent.
Just Google beyond juice scam
